A great experience for the Kansas kids. A special thanks to Will for his putting together the teams. Thanks to the Eck's for bringing up kids from down south. To the guys from Greater Gold and out west, nice to see you. Hope you all had a safe drive back. And another thanks to Eric, Travis and Shawn for coaching the teams. Great competition and good showing by the Kansas kids.

Finally, great job to the Park Hill people for a well ran day.

If you have a middle school age wrestler, this should be on your schedule for next year.

There are a few groups I want to address in this so here it goes....

1. Will, THANK YOU SO MUCH! This was a great event and we all appreciate the time and effort you put in to coordinate this. Once again, you show up (sicker than a dog), get it organized for KS, provide the kids of KS a great opportunity (his boys weren't even competing), and for what.....to help KS wrestlers get better and get experience. Thanks so much!

2. John Johnson, it was a pleasure to get the opportunity to coach these kids. We had a great time and the competition was outstanding. I would like to thank the parents of the kids on KS Tm 3 (the MULES!) for letting me have the opportunity work with your kids. They are great kids and really worked hard.

3. Park Hill.....Great tournament, well ran and first class. Thanks for giving everyone the chance to get this kind of competition.

4. John Trowbridge, thanks for helping with the coaching. Had a lot of fun and hopefully we can do it again next year!

Totally agree with John, this is defintiley a tournament you want to put on your list.

Thanks to Will for putting it together. Thanks to the coaches as well. It was a nice break to have someone else doing the coaching.

We need to start thinking about Middle School National Duals in Iowa in April. If you kid wants to be a part of it, keep in touch with the announcements that will appear on this forum.

There was still some Kansas kids missing from our teams that really need to be helping Team Kansas. I am not talking about the kids that wrestled for Team Central (which was a very impressive team), as that is their club team.

The Kansas kids that wrestled for Team Central will help the Middle School National team that Kansas will send to Iowa. But it will be very disappointing if we don't have ALL OF Kansas' best wrestlers going to Iowa to represent Kansas. If you are one of them, put it on your calendar. April 17-19, 2009. Last year Will put together 3 teams, Jayhawks, Wildcats, and Rattlers.

One of the best duals I have ever saw at any level between team Oklahoma and Team Central. Back and forth the whole way through. Some outstanding wrestling with the entire gymnasium watching.

you could sure tell the ref was for team Central in that one. there was at least 4 bad calls in different matches. I would not want to win that way!

Was wondering where I might find results for this tourney, and or the Park Hill tourney the day before?
Thanks!

Lets be fair, Park Hill is the employer for those officials! smile Jason would never want to win that way. The official was probably just tired!

Jason Keck does a great job with his club and setting up Team Central's individual and dual event. Then in the spring they host an awesome Freestyle Dual event for HS wrestlers. On top of that they organize bus trips to Bighorn Nationals and Dixie Nationals every year. Yea, they raid Kansas and take a few of our good kids but they return for HS action. Hats off to Jason, Bill Erneste, Ron DiBlasi and all of the Team Central and Park Hill parents for giving their time.

While handing out the thanks I want to thank Doug Eck, Dal Eck, Dan Gentzler, Matt Collins, Eric Johnson, Kevin Perez, Loren Armstrong, Shawn Budke, Travis Phippen, Eric Akin, Tony Purler and all of the other supporters and parents who arranged to have their kids or club's wrestlers involved. You guys gave your time and money to coach and transport these kids, hats off to you.

Each year I hear how much fun the kids have and how eye opening the competition is so I want to keep this tradition alive.

Happy Holidays!
