I reckon it all depends if you choose to recognize the BCS National Championship game as the determing factor.

Much like a few years back with the AP and UPI polls, until there is a national championship series (similar to a State Championship Wrestling Series in Kansas) and championship game (Similar to a Grand State Championship in Kansas Wrestling) to determine a true national champion for collegiate football, the outcome of the game is as meaningless as the All Class rankings.
