Currently some states require online registration while others allow it. Although there are some other states which do not allow their competitors to register online, we are the only state which does not register our coaches online.

Managing registrations is a major job around our house, with Kathy putting in around six hours/day this time of year working with clubs to get the correct information so our file upload to USAW works properly. Although not all of this time is spent on membership issues, switching to online registrations would obviously make things easier for my household. However, the state membership has voted twice that they do not want to allow online registration, and I will do my best to continue to receive permission from USAW to continue this arrangement.

If the state membership should decide to allow or require online membership (or if USAW should require it in the future, which is a distinct possibility), it would not have a negative impact on our organization's financial position. A surcharge of nearly $5 is assessed by USAW when cards are purchased online, so the decision to go to online registration would effectively be the same as a vote to increase card fees by $5.
