Who does he have wins over that are below him from this year. He hasn't wrestled much in high school aside from his freshman year. Why would Jake Gentzler, last years state champion, not be ranked above Furches? It seems pretty logical to me considering he placed higher at Clearwater and lost by the same deficit to Sparr.

It's not clear enough to change it. They will wrestle soon enough to settle the issue.

That's true, the rankings are all pretty meaningless anyways.

Stevie,

Who would you choose from Kansas to wrestle Alan Waters at 119?

I think they look pretty solid at this point in time. I can't see one place I would change a ranking. Good job Eric. We have now competed against every team on your list and I think that's exactly how it is AT THIS POINT in the season.

Chaston Hoeme has been wrestling 171, not 160. He is a good athlete and will enjoy success at 171.

Using the last rankings - if you invited all the teams of the ranked kids to a tournament you would have about 65 teams or 910 kids if they all had full teams. The numbers would get knocked down a lot if only those with 50% or better winning records (A brackets).
Take the other 50% and make a tournament for them (B brackets).

Got it, thanks. Derek's up from 103 last year. What are his losses?

The rankings are pretty close if not right on. I've watched many kids who were ranked have close matches this past weekend in Basehor Lenwood. Personally I believe if the top three kids wrestled in every weight class it could go any way. All the kids you've mentioned on the rankings are generally pretty good in their respected weight classes and have earned the ranking you have given them. Good Job Chief!

Well Chief, I'm not sure what in the world this question has to do with anything. Maybe you can explain it to me. But if you insist upon my opinion, I think the obvious choice would be to put Zac Sparr in there against him. Seems like the best option at the moment, don't you agree?

I think that would be known as an ad homonym! At least that's what a guy told me one time.

Not sure how Caleb Thomas could be in the Top Ten at 103. Did he place at Newton or another big tourney this weekend?
Thomas is a good wrestler but he should not be ranked over Alex Wolf. Wolf from Smokey Valley totally dominated the 103 weight class at August and Hatlstead. Thomas was at August and finished 5th.
