The bout card says a 4-3 match so I'm thinking it would be 1 point.

Did Taite Nelson pin Maldanado? It was 6 points for WH but nothing was marked.

Interesting matches that I noticed:

112: Ruiz beat U. DeShazer 4-3
119: Brady Heincker beat Ristau
125: D. DeShazer pinned Reinhart
130: Little pinned Maldanado
140: Dikin beat Shavlik 5-4
140: Maple beat Shavlik 14-1 (Wrestling up a weight)
145: Sanchez beat Reed 7-0
145: Charland beat Reed 13-4
145: Sanchez beat Charland 6-4
285: Serna beat Westmoreland 3-2

Taite Nelson did not wrestle against JC. I am not sure why Ruiz beating U. DeShazer by one is an interesting match. I believe that it was a one point match earlier this year when they wrestled in the Valley Center duals.

Just looking at how close the matches are against non ranked apponents that other are beating easily. Yet he stays atop the rankings, 1st in 6A 2nd in All class. I guess he just likes to keep his matches close with low scoring. He is a great wrestler but not sure the criteria of being number 1 and number two are there.

When a #1 wrestler wins by one point, there is no reason in my opinion to drop him.

Was Chase Nelson hurt? I would have like to see him and Feldkamp go at it.

Chase was hurt in his match against Caldwell at the Derby Tournament. He has yet to step on the mat during practice. I let him talk me into going to Newton without even practicing. Mistake on my part. He did beat Feldkamp for the second time this season but injured himself worse during the match. It did not help the whoopin the Colby kid put on him in the finals of Newton. I am not putting Chase on the mat again until he is 100%. It's just not worth it.

(This should be on the 6A thread, but I'll answer a quote from this thread)

Here is some of my criteria on 6A/112:

#1 Isaac Ruiz

Isaac is a returning State Champion. He beat Witten, Windham and an undefeated Vesta on the way to his title. His wins at 112 this year include:

Alan Callahan - #1/4A
Caleb Seaton - #2/5A
Troy Bainter - #2/321A
Dane Norris - #3/6A
Uylesses DeShazer - #5/6A

#2 Dalton Miller

3rd place at State in 08 with a 19-11 record. He is undefeated at 112 this year and from what I am told, is looking huge at that weight. His wins at 112 this year include:

Adrian Salas - #1/5A
Nathan Reed - #4/4A
Tim Prescott - #4/5A

Having said that, these two are likely destined for a great match at State. Ranking Dalton at #2 is in no way a slight. It would not surprise me at all to see him win the whole thing.

That would be a shame. I am all for seeding the 4 regional champions.
