What a confusion for the people not involved. Everyone watched as a school employee booted out the Wichita Heights parents for (Commenting) and arguing about the score. I am from neither school and did not understand the confusion until our school wrestled Wichita Heights. Wichita Heights has a parent that has (Two) kids wrestling on the team at 112 & 125. I'm not sure the parents name but as we wrestled his team, He was very disrepectful.

It is sad when the parents can not behave in an adult manner. This sets a very bad example for our wrestlers. Passions do run high during the match, but at no time should a parent, coach, ref, or wrestler ever exhibit un-sportsman like behaviors. This is bad for our sport and our society.

Is always a shame when bad sportsmanship is displayed by parents and/or kids. Many parents actually believe their offspring is better than they really are.

Yes, Your right about parents believing their offspring are good wrestlers. I personally believe it is just a sport. Even though tensions run high during a match, Parents should be able to control what they are screaming. Additionally they should not scream vulgar comments and should control the vocabulary being used.

I would like to add that although I do seem to hear vulgar language at every tournament, the majority of parents are great fans and show support for all of the wrestlers. There are countless times parents from other teams have come up to tell me good things about our team and our wrestlers. Just this weekend end at Hays, I had several parents tell me how they were impressed that our wrestlers never give up and wrestle hard to the end, even in defeat. I always make sure to pass these compliments on to our fine young men. They need to know that hard work is noticed and appreciated regardless of the results.
To all of the wrestlers in Kansas, hold your head high and keep pushing forward and aiming for daily improvement. Ignore the negative fans and remember you are part of a sport with the world's best fans. Don't let a few bad apples ruin our wrestling family.

Unfortunately you are wrong about a one parent having a wrestler at 112 and 125. Because you assumed that the 112 and 125 are brothers you have (albeit unintentionally) created confusion about the identity of the parent by whom you were offended. Should our anger and scorn be directed at the dad of the 112 wrestler or the dad of the 125 wrestler? Or do you care? Perhaps it is better to keep these comments to yourself unless and until you can be more accurate.

Your correct in not knowing if they are related! The confusion began when the 125 wrestler from wichita heights was down by points. The parent or Fan kept yelling out rude comments until the school official from Emporia (BOOTED) the visitors out. He actually booted out some innocent viewers while the people who were screaming out vulgar language sat quietly as it happened. Then started again when his team wrestled the next school.

While I am not condoning the behavior of the parent involved, I will criticize you for posting negative comments without knowing the facts and without having the courage to leave your name.

Why is this even a topic? Do we talk about each and every kid that got booted from a tournament? I didn't see anything about the wrestlers that got booted from the Newton TOC.

Just to clarify, (No one is trying to smear your program). And Yes, I agree with your post (The wrong people were booted out). Your facts in relation to what went on are (Correct).
Again, No one is trying to smear your program.

I clearly listed what I knew at the time (I did not know if they were parents or fans).

I personally see no reason this can't be a topic for discussion on this board. While the facts might be in dispute or the wrong individuals may have been ejected I believe that one way to put an end to unsportsmanlike behaviour in our sport is through public scorn and ridicule. If that is achieved it may be the most important service these boards provide.

I see no problem with this being a thread either as long as you know the facts. The thread starter made wrong assumptions from the start. If your going to come on here and make accusations about people you should have your facts straight.I believe the original post should be edited it was all based on assumption and not fact.

Making accusations without facts or identifying ones self while making accusations, IMO is far more unsportsmanlike behavior than the reported infraction. J Elliott

I heard it through the grapevine that ole' Emporia native Clint Bowyer was in attendance and when his former high school officials tried to give him the boot he ran to his 07 Jack Daniel's car, did a slid across the hood of 07, jumped in Dukes of Hazard style, and cut kitties in the front lawn of the campus to spite them. But, this is all hearsay.
