Wow at #103 only two athletes that have losing record. the Dodge City wrestler is tough and right out the gate he is has a tough bout. Good luck to all the wrestlers in this tournament. Former GCHS wrestler 1969-1972 RMG

No, still showing 103 as the only completed bracket. Seeding was done before 11

I heard that also. That is a comedy. Moeder pins Salas last year and Salas gets the 2 seed and Moeder gets the 5. If you are giving weight to last years placing at Garden City, you certainly have to give weight to last years head-to-head! Whomever got that one through has to be laughing that they actually bought it!

It all goes back to using some common sense at the seeding meeting. Now Moeder will face Pena in the quarters instead of the finals!

They worked hard to ruin that bracket. I heard that the head referee was leading the seeding meeting. Interesting concept!

Having a referee conduct a seeding meeting actually takes any local bias out of it. I don't know what the criteria is, but it is usually state finish first. Who placed higher at state? If you get away from criteria, and place last years head to head above state, it would take an hour a weight class to seed this thing. It will all work out.

He should have taken his hospital gown off at least.

4 and 5 seeds are not that bad if the competitors are pretty even. Good time to see where you stand with 1 seed in the semi-finals - assuming 4 or 5 and 1 make it there.

Moeder should have been the 2 seed. Again, how do you disregard head-to-head in favor of weighting last years GC tourney finish against a kid that didn't even wrestle at that tourney?

They both finished 3rd at State. It takes 5 seconds to say, "Moeder pinned Salas last year". It will not all work out. Either Pena or Moeder will not wrestle in the final.

It is kind of sad that I can get a text from 272 miles away faster than they can update from the site.
