Olivia Morgenstern was born about 10 weeks ago. Her parents are Jim and Shelly (Lyczak) Morgenstern from Russell. Jim was a former wrestler at Hoisington High School and Dodge City Community College. Olivia's grandpa is Vic Lyczak, long-time wrestling coach at Russell High School and All-American at Fort Hays State University.
Olivia was born with several heart defects and has had a couple major heart surgeries at Children's Hospital in Michigan. She was back home for a few weeks in January, but had to be flown back to Michigan a few weeks ago. She is awaiting yet another open heart surgery on Feb. 19th.

Don't want to make this forum into a medical care page, but I figured that many of you know Jim or Vic but didn't know about their current situation. Please keep this little one and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

When we can't pray for our own, we don't have much. I don't know Jim or Vic, but Olivia and the family are in our prayers. To know of a friend who hurts, hurts, to know of any child that hurts, and the parents that are dealing with it is certainly deserving of prayers for the child, parents and all those who are close to the family.

I don't know Jim, but Vic Lyczak is one of the all time great guys in high school coaching. I can't even begin to imagine the number of wrestlers lives he has affected in a positive way. I respect him tremendously. I will wish him and his family the very best of luck, and include him in my nightly prayers.

Vic is a class act, he was set to be part of the Olympic team, but started a family a little early, and chose to take care of his responsibilities than persue it. He also just lived down the street from my parents.

Mitch, please send me his address to: Graptime@aol.com
Vic was my coach, and is still a friend. Scored on him once in my career. I wish I would not have, he really made me pay! He is an awesome family man.

Though this forum is not a medical care page, it can help, my son is living proof of that. Positive thoughts and prayers go out to her and her family
