Goddard, they beat Blue Springs, MO early in the year and can get enough bonus points out of their studs to keep duals out of reach.

For the sake of argument, you have to mention Colby. They haven't lost a dual for sometime. The teams that go to their dual tourney are 6-5a schools as well as 2 that are ranked in CO.(Pine Creek and Chapparel) They beat Burlington handily, (ranked 3 in CO) Let the discussion begin!!!!

Let us not forget Derby High School which defeated Goddard High School very early in the season.

Wouldn't it be great to have a dual tourney as well as the regular state tourney (like Iowa) ?????

Derby 38 Goddard 31 103--Windham, D, def. Lemon, G, 3-0. 112--Martinez, G, def Sommers, D, 16-7. 119--Heincker, D, pinned Elliott, G, 4:33. 125--Reinhart, D, def Belle, G, 8-6. 130--T. Houlden, G pinned Pralle, D, 1:04. 135--Little, D, pinned Atkeson, G, 5:33. 140--Shavlik, D, def Burns, G, 9-5. 145--Means, G, pinned Curry, D, 4:47. 152--R. Houlden, G, def Kuipers, D, 8-5. 160--Caldwell, G, pinned Whittit, D, 4:33. 171--Feldkamp, D, pinned D. Beard, G, 3:02. 189--Carpenter, D, pinned Woodruff, G, 1:55. 215--Hicks, G, pinned Marlett, D, 2:40. 275--Anderson, D, pinned Ulmen, G, 2:57.
Yes, they did beat Goddard early. But, there would be a 6 point swing when Boaz Beard is at 189. However, the 130 match would be a lot tighter with Little wrestling Houlden. Still, I think that if these two teams were to meet up with their normal lineups Goddard would win 8 times out of 10. All the more reason Kansas needs to join in on all of the fun of having a Dual State Tournament.

goddard is the best tournament team but noway are they the best dual team. its really hard to say without a grandstate dual tournament, which gives me chills thinking about one, but i would have to agree and say colby. valley center is also a very tough dual team this year. along with derby and clay center.

Also you have to remember if derby had Skyler McComb in their line - up it would make a differnace to.

With both teams at full strength, the Goddard/Derby dual would have finished 34-27, Goddard. Derby would add Westmoreland and drop Little to 130 (having lost to Houlden in their last match). You can't add the other Derby wrestler due to off the mat issues. Goddard would add Elliott at 171 and Beard at 189. Emporia and Colby would also contend for the Dual title.

All teams listed above are tough, no doubt, but Chanute is looking good as a dual team also. Good job Albright...

Your right about a swing, but it would be a 12 point swing at 189lbs., not a 6 point swing!

There is NO WAY that you can say there is NO WAY Goddard is the best dual team. They might be, they might not be. You could say that, but to say NO WAY they are is asinine. They beat nationally ranked Blue Springs, MO. in a dual and destroyed everyone else that they faced, including Smith Center, except for Derby. I guarantee that anyone would have to bring their best A game to beat them in a dual at full strength. And as for Emporia, they are clearly legit. But if you look at the matchups based on performance at Derby, they could not beat Goddard. But again, you never know. And a dual state would not solve the issue as you would still have division of classes, etc.
