I'll have the rankings out by Tuesday at the latest, possibly earlier.

Who cares about rankings? We are in the final week of the highschool season, it is going to come down to who wants to win their match more, who has more drive to pull through. The only rankings that count are those at the end, on the podium

I agree with tigermonkey while the rankings are fun, in all reality the rankings don't mean much, now its all about who wants it most. According to the rankings last week Jake Carroll was the 3rd best 215lb wrestler in 6A, but yet he failed to even qualify for the state tournament, just goes to show you have to show up and wrestle your best EVERY time you step on the mat.

Final 6A Rankings! Now the REAL RANKINGS are decided!

***Understand this... These are rankings and not predictions for the State bracket. In many cases the top two wrestlers are on the same side of the bracket making it impossible for both to finish in the top two.

Wichita here we come!

Once again, this is the time of year when opinions about rankings will soon yield to results on the mat (excepting all-class rankings).

Those opinions however, provided by the various rankers, have provided the wrestling community with a highly visible and equally controversial, "score-card", which we sorta use as a starting-off point in our arguments in support of and in opposition to the relative worthiness of our favorite wrestlers.

It's axiomatic that when we "compete", most of us want to "keep score". (as for myself, I can't recall the last time I "competed" in any venture, where I didn't "keep score".

Subjective "Rankings" - for lack of a better alternative - is the way the wrestling community "keeps score". To stave off "rankings" until the results are "in" at state, would do a tremendous disservice to this sport. (as an aside, much kudo's to the Wichita, voice and print, Media, for they have given the sport of wrestling, alot of "play"!)

With that said, really big kudos are due and owing to those that have invested substantially of their time, knowledge, talents and expertise, in this subjective enterprise.

You guys (i.e ranker's at every level)have got to have some pretty "hard bark" on you to endure the seemingly endless criticism's and, at times, mean-spirited comments directed at you. I'm usually impressed by your abilities to sensibly deflect criticisms and intelligently challenge your opposition with well-stated sensibly stated responses to criticisms. I've noticed an almost total absence of ego and willingness to hear someone out, on their point of view (without regard for their idiocy or fool-hardy comments).

Anyway, I, for one, have genuinely "enjoyed" your comments and opinions (note "enjoyed" visa-vie, always, "agreed with"). I respect your opinions and always took to heart your comments. I appreciate the obvious investment of your time and talents to this enterprise. Thanks alot. Another great year.

In all candor - who wouldn't?

I'd like to particularly mention the chief, Richard & Cokely. Although, I have neither met any of them, I have gleaned from their steady comments that they are a steadfast soundboard for this sport and a healthy advocate for all things, "wrestling".

Thanks for keeping the rankings updated.

I am curious as to the criteria for dropping Marquez from Dodge City out of the 145 rankings. He's gone against some pretty tough competition.

He has beaten Prentice (AUG), Page (AC), Lanning (MAC) and Pate (WIN) and had at least one forfeit win against SS. He went 16-12 last year and went 0-2 at State, getting pinned by Tyler West (MH) who is not ranked at this point, but should be soon enough. As soon as he gets some more quality wins, I'll look closer at him. Newell is a state placer and Sanches beat him at JOCO before taking his first season loss to Ryan Revoir.

Reif and Boaz Beard are going for 1st and 2nd!
I said all along Reif was a sleeper!
Win or Lose...
Congrats Reif!!!
