Somewhere between 5 and 8 MCL champions are predicted. Throw in a Norton, Smith Center 1-2 finish (not forgetting Beloit nor Silver Lake...just pondering) and P-ville/P-burg 5 and 6 and that's a pretty impressive league.
All that said, 112, 119, 135, 140, 145 and 285 will be wars that could easily go non-MCL.

Unless they magically changed the brackets I think Weigel and LaMar are in the same quarter.

Fun fact the last time Mission Valley had a state finalist was in 1998, just over ten years ago. Anyone who can name this wrestler I will give you a ride in my number 62 ME car.
Hint: He made it into the finals on a very controversial call.

I like how wrestler15 gave some of the Douglass kids some love but, Andrew Shaft at 145 from Douglass deserves some consideration as well.

pat dykstra over koster of hoxie Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner. However, you said the wrong Hoxie wrestler. It was actually Travis Baker. Baker gave him a hard crossface while he was trailing and Dykstra opted to take the easy win with an injury default off of an illegal move. I'll meet you at Kansas Speedway in half an hour for your ride with the legend of NASCAR, Ricky Bobby.

I like how wrestler15 gave some of the Douglass kids some love but, Andrew Shaft at 145 from Douglass deserves some consideration as well. Andrew Shaft will have a tough time getting by Trevor Rempe of Smith Center in the quarterfinals and will likely have to face Kyle Wichman of Silver Lake or Kaid McKenna of Norton in the blood round. So I have him just coming up short of medaling. I wrestled Andrew in high school and know he can be dangerous but from what I've seen of him wrestling this year he appears to have been hampered by injuries and is a bit out of shape because of it. As for the other two Douglass wrestlers I have placing, Daylan Zaldivar and Cody Huffman benefit from have more favorable matchups in the first round and quarterfinals. Both could make the finals with great first days, but I think both should place regardless.
