Boy do some parents need this class!!!!! Who is wrestling and what are we teaching these kids? Be a poor sport (win or lose), dropping f-bombs to one another is o.k., having sheriff officers mat side on certain matches. Come on these are kids, for the most part all the kids I saw involved in hard matches won or lost had good composure, it was the parents and even some coaches who were the fools. Yes this an intense sport but a little class goes along way!!!! My hat is off to those who did have the class to walk away even when negative words were being yelled at them...REMEMBER THIS IS A KIDS SPORT, NOT A PARENTS, and apples do NOT fall far from the trees!!!!

I agree partially with you Spexy...However, I worked tables both days and witnessed one wrestler call an opposing coach a "D*@#head" and another wrestler tell an opposing coach to "F#*@ you coach." Can't count how many sets of headgear went flying across the mats! Also witnessed a whole team (coaches and parents) yelling and throwing "F-bombs" at an official after a match was lost.. I was very disappointed in the display of "unsportsmanlike conduct" this year!!
Just a suggestion but, our softball team has to take a sports conduct class every year and sign contracts before the start of the season..if you don't abide by the contract, you're out for the whole season..Each team appoints someone to be the "officer" in charge of enforcing the rules..

i actually got hit by a kid throwing a headgear left a pretty nice welt on my arm. what disappointed me wasnt necessarily the kid throwing the headgear but the way the coach handled the situation walking over to the kid and having a few choice words about the ref, instead of taking the opportunity to teach a lesson on losing with class. remember coaches we are role models and teachers. we dont just need to teach wrestling but life lessons as well.
