Can someone with authority please explain how this was ruled the way it was. I am still having trouble understanding how someone who was injured in a match can win without the other athlete being DQ. I cannot find the rules on this anywhere.

Usually when an athlete is injured and cannot continue they have to forfeit the match. However, in this case the athlete who was injured won because the other wrestler used an illegal move and broke the other wrestlers nose. Why wasn't the wrestler who did the illegal move not DQ from the tournament for this behavior???? Instead he was awarded 2nd place?? I don't understand.

Illegal moves within the match in which the offended wrestler cannot continue result in a disqualification of "the match" by the offending wrestler. He is not however disqualified from the tournament. In this case since the offending wrestler only lost this match by DQ he gets 2nd place.

Now had that wrestler committed a flagrent misconduct act, then he would have been disqualifed from both the match and the tournament, and would also forfeit and placing he/she might have secured.

So if you jam your palm into someone's nose it isn't flagrant? Who teaches that? People should have listened to me a month ago when I started protesting. Guess the injured kid will just have to live with that the rest of his life. Thanks
