If you click on clubs on the left side of the page it will bring up a map of what districts cover what area. If you click on a district, it will then list all the clubs in that district. I don't know how to find out which clubs are in which sub-district from this page, though.

In your first match at State if you are from District 1 will be with a District 4 opponent. Say you take first in your dist. then you will wrestle the fourth place finisher in the other dist. If you took second you will wrestle the third place finisher. After the first round all bets are off.

No. The backet will look something like..

1st-D1 vs. 4th-D4
2nd-D2 vs. 3rd-D3

2nd-D3 vs. 3rd-D2
4th-D1 vs. 1st-D4

1st-D2 vs. 4th-D3
2nd-D1 vs. 3rd-D4

2nd-D4 vs. 3rd-D1
4th-D2 vs. 1st-D3

this should be extremely close the actual. I hope this helps.

Here's an example from last year when it was District 1 vs District 3, and District 2 vs District 4. It's set up so that if everyone won/lost strictly according to seed, the four #1's meet in the semi-finals, a #1 wrestles a #2 in the quarter-finals, and so on.

Plug this into a 16 man bracket, and you'll see what I mean.

D-1 #1
D-3 #4

D-2 #2
D-4 #3

D-2 #3
D-4 #2

D-1 #4
D-3 #1

D-2 #1
D-4 #4

D-3 #3
D-1 #2

D-3 #2
D-1 #3

D-2 #4
D-4 #1

In my previous post I listed the scenario below. After I have studied I have realized there is a second option that is probably more fair and probably more likely because it would also switch up the probable quarter final options as well. Last year if seeds held. The #1 from Dist 1, and the #2 from Dist 2 wrestled in the quarters, and this held the same for other quarters that were dist #3 vs dist #4. In my first bracket listed below this remains the same for this year. I would guess that they alsotrade the 2nd/3rd matches within the same side. This would make the probable quarters IF seeds held. 1 vs. 3 and 2 vs. 4. This is reflected in my revised bracket.

Original***
1st-D1 vs. 4th-D4
2nd-D2 vs. 3rd-D3

2nd-D3 vs. 3rd-D2
4th-D1 vs. 1st-D4

1st-D2 vs. 4th-D3
2nd-D1 vs. 3rd-D4

2nd-D4 vs. 3rd-D1
4th-D2 vs. 1st-D3

Revised and more likely***
1st-D1 vs. 4th-D4
2nd-D3 vs. 3rd-D2

2nd-D2 vs. 3rd-D3
4th-D1 vs. 1st-D4

1st-D2 vs. 4th-D3
2nd-D4 vs. 3rd-D1

2nd-D1 vs. 3rd-D4
4th-D2 vs. 1st-D3

Mike Juby or anyother state official can you verify which of these brackets will be used? It would seem to make more sense if it was the second one. That way the probable quarter finals matchups would allow different districts to wrestle as well.

Please let us know.

The exact placing of the state qualifiers, particularly the 2nd & 3rd place finishers, will be announced by the tournament directors after the district tournament. The reasoning for the delay is similar to KSHSAA's, which does not post the high school state bracket matchups until after the Regional qualifiers. Unfortunately, there might be some incentive by some people to encourage a wrestler to take a loss in order to avoid a particular opponent. Although I am certain this is a rare incident, there is no harm in waiting until after the District tournament to find out who you will be wrestling.

Mike,
I think you mean ONLY the second and third place don't you? If we already know for instance that d2 is going to wrestle d3. You aren't going to place a first place distrist qualifier up against anyone other than the 4th place qualifier from the other district are you? As evenly as the districts have become in medals awarded I would have no problem with Greg Grater drawing peas in order to determine which district wrestles whom, just prior to bracketing. The fairest way to do either high school or kids is seeding but of course we all recognize that isn't possible.

Mike Juby- Good point. I hadn't thought of that.
