The disapointment I have is with the referee that ran the 125# semifinals match between Steven Plott and Chase Nitcher. It was a great match, but unfortunately the wrong kid came out on top. Steven was losing 3-2 with around 20 seconds left in the match when he reversed Chase. He was in complete control of Nitchers hips and hooked a leg. The ref then stopped the match with less then 10 seconds left and called a stale mate, putting Steven back on bottom. Chase went on to win the match and ultimately win the bracket. These unfortunate outcomes should not happen on the biggest stage.

Steven had a firm cross face on Chase and had Chase's leg completely hooked. According to the rule book Steven had a reversal. Steven deserved to be in the finals, no doubt.

Wow, bummer deal. This is at least the 5th person that has made such a comment as this.

Why did ALL the refs miss it? Favoritism? I wasn't there. I went to Salina to watch 4a. Really sounds like a sad deal for Plott.

How did Plott react to the non-call/lose?

The sad part it the ref looked at it for ten seconds and then started looking at the South coaches who were screaming. He came back strong today and ended up taking third, he was dissapointed and mad like any kid would be but he knows he deserves to be in the finals if not the state champion right now.

Yeah, Definitely, Plott was on top of Nitcher, it would have been the biggest upset, but now Nitcher is a perfect 50-0 for the season

Several people have been asking about it and now here it is...

Situation: Plott (in green) down 1 last 30 seconds state semi-final. Official stalemates with 7 seconds left.

Just curious - what grade is Plott this year and what was his record next year?

And, Nitcher is a JR this year - correct?

this is stevens brother jeremy plott. me and my brother have talked about this match a couple times and we have came to the conclusion that no matter what the outcome of the match was he has nothing to hang his head over. he handled the loss with alot of sportsmanship and pride and the call was out of his hands. if the call was right or wrong hes still a great wrestler and not even a ref can change that
