I am going to say ttfn! Team Kansas has an awards ceremony back in the hotel at 10 pm! Of course the honored guest will be C.J.!
I also would be remiss if I didn't say what a great job Chuck and Cherie Elvin, along with Gary Ulmer do in the planning and managing of this trip! No other State has the camaraderie and organization Team Kansas has ... and that credit goes to the Elvin's!
Wish us all safe travels as it suppose to be snowing in Detroit, where are connections are for tomorrows trip home!
See you all in Kansas!
I would like to second what you said about the Elvins and Gary Ulmer. They do a wonderful job. What they have done for Kansas wrestling is great, and it is a thankless job in many ways. With the possible exception of Chuck's eclectic taste in music when he was driving the van one year, it has always been a tremendous experience!!! I have some great memories of those trips.

Here are the top 10 team scores. They tied with Ohio and finished just behind New Jersey...that's making some noise out there. Congrats Team Kansas.

It’s always nice to be the smallest state in terms of population to be in the top ten. Just imagine how much of a better showing Kansas could have if we had a population say the size of Missouri who has nearly double the people inhabiting it. Heck, in terms of population we're outnumbered by the second smallest state in this top ten by almost 2.5 million in Minnesota.
I'm curious how many weights that the top eight had multiple placers in. It seems like it happens a lot with these powerhouse states (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio). I know we had one weight with multiple placers in 135 with Napier and Maple. Thought we might have a few other weights do this too with 112, 160, 171, and 215.
Virginia really gets help in this event due to them being the host. If it was still in Cleveland or Pittsburg I don't think you see them making a great showing year in and year out like they have at the Beach. You'd also see teams like Pennsylvania and Ohio probably finishing much higher if they were still hosting.
Nice showing Team Kansas. It’s a huge improvement from the non All-American year in 2007. Hopefully, this success can be kept up with more kids doing summer wrestling and participating in team events like the Middle School Duals in Iowa.

It's me ... a bit frazzled but home! Give me about 36-hours, to do some laundry, get a couple of "good" nights sleep, and catch up on a few things around the house; and I would gladly do it again!
We can be very proud of the fine young men that represented Team Kansas! Again, the efforts towards Team are beyond question!
Yes, a tie for 6th is FanTasTic! (but we have to remember that our total was probably comparable to Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Missouri combined)
ALL the wrestlers performed to the best of their abilities and contributed to the collective success. While C.J. is getting some much deserved accolades (I believe Kansas has only had 3 wrestlers named OW); all of them deserve credit!

are we the only one in the top 10 without a division 1 wrestling team. wow, we have to fix that soon. just think if we could have save some of those kids from having to travel to dreaded nebraska or oklahoma or california or iowa just so they can wrestle at a division one school lol.

California could have a wrestler, that placed 7th at their State championship, win it all! A 4-times from Utah may go 0-2!
I checked the results and the 4-timer from UT that you mentioned ended up with 2nd. Hey, that's not too bad. After all, I think Sanderson was a 4-timer from UT. Congratulations to Team KS!

Picture isn't clear enough to see the notorious "flathead scrape" from his elbow to his hand. Oh wait, noodling isn't legal in most parts of Kansas. I'll change this note to "picture isn't clear enough to see that hook mark in the fish's mouth"
Looks like 35 lbs to me.......

Last year, we were able to watch matches on flowrestling.com. Does anyone know where we might be able to see some of the semi and finals matches other than ESPN360? Would like to see Napier's finals match and as many other ks matches as might be posted online somewhere.

I did not see anyone from Flo either. Last year they were pretty high profile, in that, their presence was announced at the meet time and time again. This year not at all.

I have watched a few of the matches on Flo. Sadly I think they got all of the matches Kansas kids lost (Maple and Caldwell's semifinals matches). There may be a few more out there.
