There have many posts and phone calls to council members of people wanting to attend this weekends meeting. While our meetings are open to our membership by our bylaws you must petition the kids Executive State Director if you wish to address the Kids Council. Our meeting will not hold a large crowd. The agenda has three major topics that will be discussed.
1. We will hear bids from three city's (Wichita, Hays, and Topeka) to host the Kansas kids State Championships. 2. We will select the Offcials Representative to the Council. 3. We will discuss summer camp funding.
We have a full agenda and lots to discuss, I know we will have a lively debate as I as well as many other council members have been reading your comments on the forum. At this meeting we will not debate the 6 and under issue or the many other issues that I have read on the fourm. These will be discuss at the next meeting.
If you wish to attend or speak at this meeting please feel free to contact me before Sunday.
Please feel free to use this thread and/or the fourm to keep the great ideas coming.
I promise you I will make a post next week on the councils decision next week.

While everyone may understand that they have the right to remain silent there are some of us who do not have the control to remain silent. While many of the topics are not on the agenda and open for discussion at this meeting everyone needs to understand that to make it feasible to discuss them in the future we need to vote for a one year contract for the state tournament. This will give us a year to create options, conduct studies, surveys, and give the proper attention to critical issues. The state tournament has been status quo for 23 years and we have reached a point where it is time to make some changes that will promote growth. The state tournament CANNOT grow in its present venue and setup.

I would gladly give up 3 hours on a sunday or any other day so our Kansas kids state championship matches could be wrestled on full mats like they should be....These kids havent complained about the countless gut wrenching hours of practice theyve put in to get there. It just doesnt seem right to reward this hard work with quarter or half mats for the finals at our State tourney, maybe thats something we could work towards......

Ned will be making an official announcement of the results from this meeting in the near future. The members of the Executive Council agreed to wait for this announcement before making any comments.
