I am trying to assemble a team to compete in the California Greco Challenge. Age group is FILA Juniors (up to 19 years old.) The weights are as follows:

108 Skyler Wood
115 Jeff Vesta
123 Alan Waters -CONFIRMED
130 Daniel DeShazer
138 Ryne Cokeley - CONFIRMED
145 Mitchell Means/Drake Houdashelt
154 Chase Nelson
164 Kyle Detmer
174 Breck Arnberger
190 Romero Cotton
217 Kyle Caylor
HWT Elijah Madison

We will be competing against teams from Oregon, California (4 teams), Poland, Germany, and a USA All Star group.

Wrestlers will weigh in on May 29th and wrestle May 30-31 returning on June 1.

I have reserved airfare from KC to Oak leaving on May 28th at 8:05 am arriving 11:15am in Oakland, CA returning June 1st departing at 7am arriving KC at 2:10pm. Anyone from outside of the KC Metro area can stay at our house. The tickets are $279.40 If you are going I need to buy your ticket by May 4th as I have the fare frozen for everyone between now and then. If you want to secure your own ticket you can fly into San Francisco or Oakland in order for us to work out pickup and transportation to Walnut Creek, CA.

You will need food and spending money. The rest, transportation too and from the airport as well as loding will be covered. We will work out at the CYC on Thursday afternoon and Friday. Weigh in is Friday. Sunday night they have a dinner and awards banquet.

I don't have emails for everyone so please pass along to anyone you know on the list.

Ryne, Kyle Caylor, and Alan Waters attended last year and had a great time. Wrestlers will wrestle 10-12 Greco matches. With this line up I believe we can dominate the team event!!

Please let me know if you are interested or NOT interested.

Thanks
Will

KS/MO beats California 1. 34-14! I thought they had Team USA, but not yet.

They are now 4-0! They have CYC next. Another California team.

The format of this tournament was a round robin dual team event. MoKan All Stars were 7-0 in this. Based on your individual records, brackets were seeded for an individual tournament to place the top 6. If you lost your first round match you wrestled for 5th if you won and lost in the semis you wrestled for 3rd. MoKan All Stars had seven individuals in the finals.

Placings
Aaron Seybold 3rd
Jeff Vesta 3rd
Alan Waters 1st
Vinny Gallegos 2nd
Ryne Cokeley 2nd
Cody Shavlik 4th
Chase Nelson 1st
Evon Royal 5th
Ray Hall 3rd
John Eblen 1st
Kyle Caylor 2nd
Elijah Madison 1st

What an awesome competition! Yes in case someone hadn't told you, MoKan is Mo'Better. It was fun competing with those guys instead of against. They showed'em out in Cali.

I think they all had fun too!
Chase and Cody were not able to get married due to the law being changed again in San Francisco, but they have a few stories of giving money to the homeless with the creative signs.

I believe it was a great experience and I would like to give a big THANK YOU to Will Cokeley for letting me coach such a team. Now I know what the Russians and Iowa feel like going into a competition There is no substitute for talent. One last thank you to all the coaches who helped make those guys the wrestlers they are today.
