Javier battled hard in the first period and finally won the takedown with about 10 seconds remaining. 1-0

Javier was in a couple of shots but was monkey rollet twice and crotch-lifted once. 0-6

Junior 152 Round 7 (Bout 1964) - Parker Madl (Kansas) vs. Brandon Wilbourn (Missouri)

Parker gave Wilbourn and helluva go but couldn't generate enough offense.

Madl loses, 1-5 and 0-2.

Junior 160 Round 7 (Bout 1967) - Kyle Detmer (Kansas) vs. Brock Gutches (Oregon)

Kyle would extract a measure of revenge from Brock Gutches who was the Junior Greco Champ!

Detmer would earn a push out fairly early but gave the point back as he was charged with fleeing. Kyle countered an attempted go behind with a takedown of his own. As the period was waning, Gutches tried to throw but Kyle had better position, Detmer gains 3 more. 5-1

In the second it was Detmer again with the counter for 1 and later earned 2 for the crotch lift. With about 12 seconds to go, Detmer gives an non-incidental 1 to Gutches. 3-1

In the second, it's Hood with the fireman's carry for 3. The Texan scores a go behind. Austin goes legs and scores ... the Texan reverses. Hood reverses ... 5-2.

It would take three periods to decide this ... suddenly Hood counters a leg shot ... exposing and earning the fall!!!

Junior 112 Round 7 (Bout 2011) - Blayne Shockley (Missouri) vs. Jeff Vesta (Kansas)

Vesta and the Showme are locked in a battle for position suddenly it's over ... using the Vesta (front-quarter nelson) Jeff pins another!

Junior 135 Round 8 (Bout 2027) - CJ Napier (Kansas) vs. Jake Ballweg (Iowa)

This would be a typical CJ bout with calculated shots with low risk. Towards the end of the 1st period, CJ earns the push-out.

In the 2nd, CJ would be pushed out by Ballweg. As time was getting short, CJ was in on the single leg and finished with the takedown.

CJ wins 1-0 and 1-1!

Junior 285 Round 6 (Bout 2032) - Ryan Kincaid (Kansas) vs. Dylan Stadel (Utah)

Ryan Kincaid would run into an athlete who controlled the mat. Ryan loses 0-3 and 0-3.

Junior 160 Round 8 (Bout 2041) - Kyle Detmer (Kansas) vs. Robert Kokesh (South Dakota)

Kyle would end up losing this bout by fall. Kyle won the 1st period 6-2 but his foe would show that he would be tough.

In the second, both wrestlers were scrambling when Kokesh found Detmer's head and sucked him under.
