Nowak to Baker, Baker really got a steal on that one... Congratualtions to all young men who want to pursue the sport of wrestling farther. There are ways you can look at wrestling in college. I personally look at it as its a tool, that is helping me dod what i want in the end; and that is end up teaching in a classroom. Congrats too all.

Updated for today's posts on Josh Van Holland, Raymond Marquez, and Ricky Creek.
To bring just the Class of 2009 Seniors who plan to wrestle in college into a consolidated list, the list below represents what appears to be solid committments so far from the information provided above:
Reported by posters to be wrestling next year at:
Boaz Beard---Iowa State University Tyler Caldwell---Cal Poly Ricky Creek---York College Kyle Detmer---University of Oklahoma Cameron Jesseph---Labettte CC John Lynch---Oklahoma City University Mitchell Means---Fort Hays State University CJ Napier---University of Nebraska Jacob Nowak---Baker University Aaron Patton---Pratt CC Jakob Price---Baker University Noel Richardson---Merchants Marine Tyler Sutherland---US Military Academy West Point Josh Van Holland---Oklahoma City University Dustin Zahorsky---Pratt CC
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Undecided but planning to wrestle in college:
Alan Callahan Rick Gomez Raymond Marquez Cody Phillips Keegan Smith
Let me know if I have someone listed incorrectly or if someone needs to be added to this consolidated list.

Scarecrow_103, That is a very nice thing for you to say about Jacob Nowak. He is very excited to be part of the first Baker University wrestling team. He is hoping to be part of a NAIA national championship team during his wrestling career at Baker. We have been extremely impressed with Jimmy May and we are convinced that Coach May will develop a successful nationally competitive team at Baker just like the very successful high school wrestling program he developed in Nevada. Besides the wrestling opportunity that Baker offers, we believe that it is going to be an excellent academic opportunity for Jacob. Baker University has a very good academic program and a very favorable student to teacher ratio. It is a small campus where all the students seem to know each other. We have talked to a lot of current students, former students and parents of former students. Everyone we talked to has had nothing but good things to say about Baker and their college experiences at Baker. For all these reasons we think that Baker is a great opportunity for Jacob and it will be for a lot of Kansas high school wrestlers in the years to come.

Kit Harris Baldwin HS coach OldKSWrestler, based on Alan's high school coach's post above I am changing Alan on the list to Undecided. Kit, I appreciate that update. Also, if I have listed someone as committed to a school incorrectly I would appreciate it if you would correct me as Kit did or via a private message if you prefer. Thank you.

Several updates: Sharky Slyter has signed with Meramac Community College in St. Louis, Kyle Wichman York, Dylan Pryor Baker University (I heard on Dylan from a reliable source today). Also include in undecideds: Chaz Lawrence, Jeff Vesta, Anson Worrell, Steve Kyler and Howard Johnson.
