Valley Center had about 750 kids this weekend. Did your club go? If so how did you like it? VC normaly has 500 kids.

Thought it was great and was frankly surprised at how smoothly things ran with that many kids. Good job VC. By the way it was an honor and I mentioned it to my son to be wrestling in the room where Patrick Miller wrestled. Actually with him being in the Kansas Hall of Fame now it would have been nice to see some recognition of that.

I would like to thank everyone involved with our club for making both the Saturday tournament and Sunday Novice tournament a success. They both started on time and saw very few problems along the way.

We could never do it without all of the great parent support. Thanks for all you do to make a difference in our kids lives.

As for recognizing Patrick Miller as a member of the Kansas Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, we are working on it. Let me get through our season and I should have more time.

Patrick Miller wrestled at Valley Center and was taken hostage along with Jessica Lynch in the early days of the Iraqi War. He is largely credited as being the hero who saved the lives of the troops in that situation. He was placed in the Kansas Hall of Fame this last year for his distinguished service to our country. He is a young man who has shunned the highlights and publicity of that particular event and to my understanding still serves in the Armed Services. I am not sure but I think he has either left or was considering a second term in Iraq.
