That has to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! ? I realize the business world and the academic world are two different places but I wonder how many businesses would keep the doors open, and employees on a payroll, of an inefficient failing business just to keep a building from sitting empty . The taxpayers deserve a financially efficient education system . Consolidation would save millions of dollars that could be redirected to resources aimed at giving the kids of Kansas the best education possible. That is the goal, not keeping buildings open .

The consolidated schools would absorb a lot of the displaced teachers and definitely fewer administrators would be required. THIS IS A GOOD THING ! Welcome to the real world!! The education system should not be set up as a welfare system to keep the greatest number of people as possible employed.

As far as the data not being accurate down to the last student and last penny, come on are you serious!! The figures are not updated continuously in real time how could they be? They do represent a snap shot in time that is accurate enough for a comparison. Do you have better info ? Your having trouble seeing the forest , it seems a few trees are getting in your way.
