Urban's nephew told me tonite that they are now cautiously optimistic that Urban will pull thru.

As a Goddard Wrestler parent and Someone who knows Pete and the Ecks I just wanted to say my heart and prayers are with the Ecks in this time of need.

By now, most of you probaly heard. Urban passed away. One of the finest gentleman that has ever walked the earth. A beautiful family and brothers, sisters and spouses just like him. He will be missed but never forgotten! Matt

Urban's services are as follows:

Tuesday at 4:00 rosary

Tuesday at 7:00 rosary

Wednesday at 10:30 am funeral

ALL at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 19210 W. 29th St. North.

I will get a mailing address for the memorial, which is the Emma and Gabriela Eck College Fund. They are his girls that are still in grade school.

The following is taken from Urban's memorial handout:

Dad always said, "You've got to go through the hard times to appreciate the good."
He didn't often get the opportunity to stop and enjoy life, but when he did, he loved to have everyone together. He loved to play with the little kids-any kid-but especially his own. He liked to work with the little wrestlers; teaching, coaching-kind of the way he did with us. He taught us to do the right thing, to always be ready to help somebody out, and to honor and cherish family relationships. He didn't like a lot of fuss. He was a good son, a good husband and father, a hard worker, and a good friend. He was a real family man. We cherish every memory we have.

The church was standing room only as well as the banquet hall next door. The turn out was a wonderful testament to an outstanding man.

Urban Eck will be missed and remembered by many.

When I heard the bad news, It hit close to home because Urban and I have the same job. I have watched all of the Ecks' in the past few years and know that there is a good role model in their life. I will be praying for my brothers children.
