NFHS Rule (4-5-5)
IF ONE OF THE SCHOOLS IN THE COMPETITION ON SATURDAY DOES NOT HAVE SCHOOL OR PRACTICE AS A RESULT OF A WEATHER FORCED CANCELLATION ON FRIDAY, THEN THE SCHOOL NOT HAVING PRACTICE ON FRIDAY NEEDS TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE HOST SCHOOL FOR SATURDAY OF THAT FACT. ALL WRESTLERS IN SATURDAY’S COMPETITION GET ONE POUND (IN ADDITION TO THE TWO POUNDS GROWTH ALLOWANCE THAT ALL CERTIFIED WRESTLERS ARE PERMITTED). This provision is the same as for the consecutive days of competition weight allowance - i.e., a maximum of two pounds (plus the growth allowance) should schools attending the Saturday competition be closed both Thursday and Friday.
So.... If an attending school has been closed due to weather one day prior to weigh-in, the allowance is THREE pounds. (One extra pound plus the two pound growth allowance to those wrestlers that have certified). If an attending school has been closed two consecutive days prior to weigh-in, the allowance is FOUR pounds. Four is the maximum.
This is MY understanding. Please confirm this with your host schools!
