Two different wrestling styles, doesn't make one wrong or right, just different. He is the number one ranked kid all class, he must know how to wrestle, and his style must be working. I just don't see the same match that you do. Just curious, how did you do in High School and College? Sounds like sour grapes to me.

Again when you have the lead in the match and you are standing center circle while the other wrestler does not attempt to engage, you are not stalling.I always tell kids when you are behind it's your job to make something happen if you wanna win the match , not the guy thats winning!

You will never see a heavy wt shot a takedown or do a stand up as fast as DD. That dude is faster than lighten WHEN he wants to move. Maybe that is part of his strategy? Lull them to sleep and then STRIKE like a COBRA! ;-)

Let me explain something to you and let me make it very clear to you. You have never sat in one of my practices. You have never watched Daniel train nor anybody else on my team train. You have no clue what the philosophy of my program is nor what I teach or try to teach in my program. You have never spoken a word to me and have no clue of what my background as an athlete or coach is. And then you get on here and say that "I can't coach" because you watched one match from one kid who separated his shoulder 5 times in the last year and this was his first tournament of the year???

The move I was inquiring about was in another match, not the finals. I did not complain or tell anybody they were wrong. I was asking. I found out my answer answer form Nigel Isom that it is indeed stalling even if you are trying to turn them as in high school a trapped ankle is stalling and it is not in college.

I apologize for never hearing the name Lucas B. Baker. I apologize for not knowing you were a state champion, All-American, or College National Champion????????

However while my resume is probably not as impressive as yours I am sure since you were on a state championship team and college wrestler you are 10 times the coach/teacher that I can ever hope to be let me put my life on the line for you in this sport.

Started wrestling in the 7th grade
4 X State Qualifier 2 X placer
36-0 Undefeated State Champion in 1997.
"Oh my team was only 2nd in 1995" sorry... one away

I managed to go to college:
Labette Community College 1997-99 (Juco Program)
Fort Hays State 1999-2000 (Division II program)
Carson-Newman College 2000-2003 (Division II program)
750% winning in college (sorry I was not as good as Lucas Baker)

Coaching Career:
2 year assistant at Wichita South
2 year head coach at Wichita South High School
**2006 Team State Runner-ups)
**2006 KWCA 6A Coach of the year
**2007 Team 8th place... Only qualified 4 and got 3 in the finals.
1 year assistant at Wichita Heights
2 year Head Coach at Wichita Heights
**2009 4th Place team finish
**2009 GWAL Champions 8-0 Dual record / Tournament Champs
**First team to beat Bishop Carroll in over 8 years and 105 dual win streak was snapped.
**Currently 5-0 in the league
**Team currently ranked in the top 10 in the state in 6A.
Kansas National Team Coach 2007-2009...

If anybody else can think of anything let me know but I am sure my resume is not near the level of Lucas B. Baker.....

I have a phone number and an email address if you would like to discuss this any further...

And yes, Kendric Maple and Chase Nelson are my athletes along with Tim Elliott 4 X All-American and National Champion.....

That's a nice wrestling resume Church. But it doesn't hold a candle to my middle school girls volleyball and now girls basketball coaching resume. I can also write a mean leadership paper, so quit braggin'.

It's too bad that Coach Christner's quiet confidence and tremendous character didn't rub off on Mr. Baker during that 98 and 99 season.

Christner's work ethic rubbed off on me. Thats why I am on here complaining about a kid that did nothing but stall the entire match.

I have been informed that Lucas is a half brother of Bret Lamar and now I understand... Just a guy, biased guy upset about a loss... I have been told over and over again to not reply to people on this board as sometimes the intelligence level is just too low especially wrestling IQ.

hahahahahahaha! Now if I said I knew everything about the rules I would not of been on here asking a question trying to better myself as I am and always will be a student of the game. Maybe if I keep learning I will know everything like Lucas Baker... I beg you to write a book and I promise you I will read it cover to cover!!!

Complain all you want... we took the shot that got the take-down...Bret is a tough kid who I really liked. I thought he had great enthusiasm after his big win over Jones and a 3-2 loss to someone of Daniel's caliber is tough for some to swallow but should motivate both athletes too train harder than before.

Lucas Baker...Like I said, I don't know you and now I have no desire to know you. Good luck in your pursuits to define the word stalling for high school wrestling. While you are doing that... I'll work on making my athletes acceptable for you to watch and judge!!! Then all of those DI letters those kids are already receiving will double because of your motivating me to make them better!!!!!

P.S. I just might take you up on that address as I just received a new Garmin for Christmas!! I will be able to drive right to your front door. How sweet is that....However, if you ever see me out and about at a tournament feel free to tap me on the shoulder and introduce yourself as I wont' recognize you as I have no clue who you are. I am a real friendly guy...

Please dont question my wrestling IQ im just fine, you are the one wasting time teaching your kid a move he cant use. Who's intelligence level is just too low?

I assure I have no idea who you are either and dont care!

If you think it is ok to take your time to get back to the center of the mat. You must be Lazy!!

If you think it is ok to stand frozen on the whistle. I have no idea how you became a coach.

In the 20 years I have been around this sport I have never seen a kid just stand there.

My third place match at state my senior year I was up by a point managed to gramby out of a take down and came up ten foot away from the kid I was wrestling. My coach stood up and yelled at me GET OVER THERE!!! So I jumped about 5 feet forward tying up with the guy when I Landed and hitting a move that I know as the Jewish headlock to pin the kid.

My point is hustle you dont make the official wait because your taking your sweet time to get back to the center.

D1 letters with 3 matches wrestled?

Taken from the 2009 rule book
Passivity (stalling) is the worst enemy of wrestling. Any attempt to AVOID
WRESTLING — by blocking, by pushing, by going out of bounds, by “playing the
edge”.

Daniel Deashazer: 3 X Fargo All-American.... State Champion and Runner-up.... Mutliple other National Championships... that's how you get DI letters...

I am for sure done with this arguement when a dudes example is his 3rd place match his senior year... LET THE PAST GO... YOUR CAREER IS OVER hahahahahahaha!

I sure was expecting more...

Lucas Baker... Have a blessed day...
