Just a few notes about last year's tournament.
We had over 600 kids from 5 states show up and wrestle.
We had some awesome matches take place and everyone was headed home by 5pm!

By giving the wrestlers a chance to win a RING we are really hoping for the same kind of turnout OR BETTER this year.

Whats the catch?
How much are you charging for parking? lol
What do the rings look like?

LOL
There is no cost for parking.
We considered the Belt idea but that's already being done and even though we are giving rings we didn't want to jack up the entry fee. Times are tough all around.
Please look at our flyer and you can see a sample of our Rings and Medals.

Why are you leaving out 14u and 16u for outstanding wrestlers?

We do not have an Outstanding Wrestler at 14U or 16U cause we are not having those age groups wrestling.

We realize that there are wrestlers out there that fit into those divisions but with MS and HS seasons in full swing we thought it would be better to focus all of our attention and mat space to the 6U though 12U age groups.

Even Goddard only had 8 weight classes an just over 30 kids in the 14U division.

This was a tough decission for us to make. MY son wrestles in the 14U division. We just want to try to focus on the other 600 wrestlers that we hope to have there and make it a short day for everyone.

I hope everyone understands!

What about sizes of the rings?
Will you have the rings on hand or will you ship them?

BLT,

This is a serious question and I am not trying to embarass or harass anyone.....

On the 10U weights you have it listed as 78 lbs. In KS our normal weight class is 79 lbs. Is it a typo on the flyer or is the weight class really going to be 78 lbs for this tournament?

Thanks for the help.

talked to a couple parents about getting an exhibition bracket set up at this tournament for the 8 unders. Kids that would probably be on that list would be hartley, newton, schroeder, spexarth, bockover, miller from osborne, bowen, robinson's from ark city and bugner just to name a few. Let me know if this is still in the works. that would be a good bracket right there in the afternoon time. you guys probably know of a few other kids to add so i will leave that up to you. dont know how many kids will be going to the hutch tournament that would effect the numbers.

I would LOVE to see this happen. I think we can do something like this...
The only thing is weight and getting everyone to buy in.
I think a sixty seven pounder wrestling an eighty pounder is giving too much weight.
I will talk to our board and see what we can due.
Give me a few days and maybe give suggestions on the weight issue.

by the way where is Nick Gray at these days. Last time I saw him he was coaching and teaching in Topeka. Thought maybe he was in with some of you guys trying to get wrestling team at Pitt. That would be awesome. Just think of the team name. Pitt state gorilla wrestling team. One of a kind right there. Southern would think twice about throwing banana's on our football field then.

nick is still in topeka, came and coached columbus football for a while then went back. Pitt wrestling would be awesome. if you need $$$ you go find holman, he is a big shot now. i know you didn't take me to pool school, i don't play for money. play for beers every now and then, but usually don't get down more than $5, i work too hard for my $$$.!!

well no reason to invite Gamble as he will mop up any kid within a couple weights. I think Dylan Newton would be the closest match to him but Gamble mops up the rest so Lance if your going to set it up lets figure it out. Im game. If not then thats ok to because we will probably all get together and practice in the coming weeks and months to get ready for state and reno anyways.
