Blew beating Bontz, or Gentzler beating Shoemaker probably is more of an accomplished victory than Kmiec hitting Pursel in his Hail Mary move to pull off a chance of a lifetime victory, if he beats Pursel in a dec or tech give it to him but not in the wat he did yesterday!

What were the details of the Pursel match--score prior and what period and what move did he hit to win by pinfall ?--Did anyone post the video ? ...I bet the Gentzler-Shoemaker match was a dandy. 2 great kids that have been going at it for years.

A pin is a win. Don't get to vote in this sport. Pursel is great though. I would like to see the rematch.

Smokin gun have you heard the quote "summer wrestling makes winter champions". Kmiec worked hard this summer and it shows with his 19 pins this year!!

Man, give the kid some credit. The coaches obviously thought he was deserving. Saying a win isn't as good because the winning wrestler used a move in his arsenal that works for him is unfair. If that is his go to move, then it is no different than a great double leg.
If he couldn't hang with a tough wrestler like Pursel without it, then kudos to him for realizing he should try it. Better to go for it rather than waiting to see if you lose.
Let's not soil a solid win and diminish an outstanding wrestler honor earned by a high school athlete. Pursel is a really good wrestler and he will certainly bounce back.

No I'm saying give him some respect that he deserves for the hard work he is putting in. Last year is last year. And Aspen has mad respect for both Dylan and Bo and that is why he has put in the hard work.

Kmiec pins Pursel. Williams beats Haralson. Haralson pins Dremel. Rankings? Glad I don't have to do it. Good luck chief! smile

I might just go:

1. Dalton Miller
2-10. A bunch of tough wrestlers!

This was the first year I got to see this tournament and i was very impressed the way it was ran and the level of competition. My hat is off to the AD and Holton team for putting on a great tournament.

As for the wrestling everyone here knows that kids are kids and wrestle there best. Win or lose I think you should give the credit to whom ever wins the match and not bash them for getting the job done. Heights is not seen as a top level team to some people due to the style they have. Most of the kids on the team have a brief wrestling back round and still compete with the kids that have been wrestling for most there life strickly due to there style.

Andover Central is well coached and has some great kids they all win and lose with class. Lansing and Pratt are very much the same way. I know Lansing had a couple of kids out and it is a shame that they could not be at full strength.

Any team thinking about going to this tournament in the future should strongly consider it.

I worked a table for the majority of the day and watched alot of great matches! My son Drake wrestled for 1st place against Cullen Demarest in the finals taking 2nd with a 2-1 score at the buzzer. It was an exciting match and as a mom wish it had a different outcome! I'm pretty proud of him as his only 2 losses this year have been to Charland and Demarest. He's working his way up! Way to go Drake and your teammates! You guys are on your way to an outstanding year!

I must say this was the best tournament I have went to this season, Kmiecs pin was impressive and shocking. Everyone was watching the match expecting to see 6 minutes of good wrestling and the fans were stunned with the quick end.
In no disrespect to any of the other wrestlers I was most impressed with Spencer Blew. In my opinion he was the best wrestler there that day, he had a tough bracket with 4 ranked kids and 2 others with 20 wins. It was impressive to watch him work the bracket with all pins. 189 and 112 were fun brackets to watch all day also.
Smooth tournament with good teams I would recommend putting it on your schedule next year.
