Hey Pudgey, lets not forget about the 4 count that somehow awarded Miller 3 points. I think the wrong people had a HUGE impact on that match!

You don't see too many 14-13 Heavyweight scores out there.

hours and hours of hard work, must have stock in tylenol.

Okay now I'm confused at 152 at one time you had Josh at four but again was moved down, you have Keiswetter at 3 in the all class rankings and in the 321a rankings they have him at 3. I'll probably regret saying this cause Josh and heck who knows maybe Son to will get moved down even more but Thimmesch and Rachow arent even on the all school rankings and yet they are ranked ahead of Keiswetter in 321a. Then you have Penka at 2 in the all school rankings but have him at 3 in the 5a rankings behind Demerest who is at 9 in the all school rankings, man chief you got me confused is there anybody undefeated at this weight besides Blair, whats your criteria do you go by records, who they've wrestled, or by if you know them or like them, I'm lost.

Let me clear a few things up.

1. I don't do the 321A rankings.
2. I don't do the 5A rankings.
3. Join the club about being lost at 152.

clear us all up what is your criteria how do you go by ranking these guys. I'm not trying to start anything cause I would think this would be hard since there are alot of good wrestlers out there. I'm sure pick wants to know and the other person wondering how Son was at one time ranked below Rodriguez? Is this just one mans guess or do you get help from others who rank as well.

I am the KWCA 4A and 6A ranker. I also do the AC rankings that are not sponsored by the KWCA. The 4A rankings are posted once a week. The AC rankings are updated anytime with criteria. That is why Sam Son has been ranked above Josh in 4A and at one point below him in AC. Son has two losses this year to Cade Blair, 3-1 and to Jake Walker. He went 41-6 last year and you know what happened in that 145 State bracket. When I changed the 152 AC after "chaos" swept over it, I realized that I had overlooked Son. I am not done updating them this week and will do that after my 4A rankings are updated. I do receive and appreciate input from all sources and have many dedicated coaches and fans from around the state that have great insight into certain weight classes. Ultimately it is my decision and I am always glad to defend it.

Yeah its better to come in under the radar and surprise everyone and they dont mean much. Its sometimes just nice to see them, but just wondering how they are done.

Interesting statement. "Rankings don't mean anything". I think you meant, "They don't determine state placings". Right?

Your son only had 13 matches all last year going into regionals. That was part of the ranking problem.

Let me take a wild guess. You liked the rankings better when a particular wrestler was ranked #5 All-Class.

I love the whole rankings thing. I applaud the extra work that Chief takes to make the rankings as meaningful as possible. Obviously, as Mr. pick respectfully points out, it is not meant to predict the state tournament outcomes. But it is fun to watch for it. Fun to see how all the complexities work themselves out. And I think the kids enjoy it.

Kudos Chief!

The reason Rachow-Phillipsburg is ranked above Landon Keiswetter-Norton is because he won in OT at the P-burg VS Norton dual.
