I was posting from my phone. Surprised I figured it out. LOL. The meet was pretty exciting. Good crowd, too. @ 112 Elliott got Kmiec on his back early in the 1st but couldn't hold it and then ended up getting stuck. There was a couple questionable calls as the buzzer went off in the 145 match and the 189 match. Kidwell got hosed at 145. Ref gave a take down when there wasn't any control...not even contact...at the buzzer. The 215 pin by Pacheco was HUGE! So were the 130 and 135 pins by GEHS. The coach flipped them around and the move paid off. The 160 match between Curtis/Willis was tight also. Curtis hit a firemans early but Willis rolled him for a 5-pt move and was able to hold him off for the next 2 periods.

Who was that ref? Or is he a ref at all? He couldn't officiate a game of checkers, much less wrestle his way out of a wet paper bag!

Are we that despertate for officials?

Rule book and glasses. . he needs both.

Hope he has the pair to slap me in the face if he ever sees me in public.

Are you referring to the ref's name or just that I possibly spelled your last name wrong? If it is the former, than that explains everything about those matches. However, if it is the latter, then I truly apologize and please note that I have edited all postings to reflect the change to that minor oversight and will work very hard in the future to curb my inadequacies.

What a fun dual! Great venue - pep band - heights team praying at the start- I knew it would be close. Heights had a good crowd cheering and encouraging the officials. Gardner did also.
Four generations of crazy wrestling fans in attendance.

Three calls that were questionable - one already mentioned at 145. 160 - official showed takedown and then took it away from Curtis in the first. The other was at 189. At least the offical was consistent giving two points after the buzzer. lol

Gardner-Edgerton wrestles Topeka Seaman tonight. Should be another good dual.

I would like to add that I really did like the support the Heights crowd showed. Brought me back a little bit to my day where wrestling was a craze and stands were packed. I would love to see more of that. Last night just had a good feel to it. Old school gym, enthusiastic crowd and a good competitive meet. GE-Seaman should be another good dual. I'll see if I can "stream" more updates! If my wife finds out I'll never hear the end of how ridiculous I am with my kids sports! LOL!

Sounds like it was a great atmosphere for wrestling. Lots of interesting matchups.

Thanks 3HSwrestler for streaming this event and bringing much needed attention too two teams that deserve it. You are not ridiculous with your kids sports just a dedicated parent and fan. I would like to see more live updates of events across the state. As a coach and fan of the sport it's exciting to be apart of an atmosphere like last nights. Heights did a great job making this single dual and event and not to mention the talent that was on the mats made it even more exciting. Good luck to both of these teams who will see each other again in a few weeks at Regionals.

Thanks Big Will and I agree w/ you completely. Chief, I couldn't tell you his name. There were 2 refs switching every other match. But the questionable calls all came from same ref.

Thank you for all of the positive feedback that is not normal for most forums! I know the Staff and Administration worked very hard to put it together and from what I have heard the next dual is going to be even better! They really want to have it be a big show and make it FUN for EVERYONE!

I think it is hard for the refs and the kids when they switch the refs every match. There were 2 refs and the calls are not the same all the time. Either way it was a great Dual and very fun to watch. Hopefully it is just the begging of things to come!
