I would say Easterberg. He pinned Lackey and Hill had a tough regional.

FINAL PRE-STATE 4A RANKINGS are updated!

www.kansaswrestling.org

Understand that these rankings ARE NOT state predictions! In many cases the top ranked wrestlers are on the same side of the bracket.

I want to thank EVERYONE for all of the criteria info. Rankings are only as good as the input and some of the most pointed posts turned out to be great info. Certainly many rankings have been determined by personal opinion and have taken match and health conditions into consideration.

This year went FAST. I can only hope that they have added to the fun and excitement of what I think is one of the greatest wrestling states in the nation.

State brackets are set. Toe the line and let it rip. Let the REAL rankings begin!

- Chief

Well in the 171 bracket at regionals #2 Ethan Mumaw pinned #3 Chance Davis in the 2nd period. And #1 Benny Armstrong beat #4 baird by 3 but was a 0-0 match until the 3rd. armstrong got an escape then baird gave up a take down at the very end trying to make something happen. i was wondering y Baird didnt get moved up when Davis got pinned??

I have always been an Armstrong fan as well. Having had my son wrestle in NE Kansas for the last 12 years I have watched Mumaw wrestle more than I can remember. My son has wrestled Mumaw several times over the years and I can only remember Camron beating him 1 time when they were about 8 years old. My son has had some success wrestling, winning kids state twice and has a high school record of 65-13 ( did not wrestle his freshman year). He used to be able to keep it pretty close with Mumaw, a lot of 2-1 and 3-2 type matches. In there three meetings this year Mumaw has flat taken him to the wood shed. I guess the point I'm trying to make is Mumaw is wrestling as good as I've ever seen him wrestle this season. He is completely focused and on his game, I don't think he's had a close match all season. The brackets set up nicely and I wouldn't be surprised to see Mumaw #1 in the final rankings.
