In my humble opinion I thought that the best finals match in 6A was that of Brad Little and Trey Houlden. Both wrestlers came to win and it showed never giving up and sheer determination. great match to watch congrats to all who placed and to all that made it... great accomplishments boys

Best match i thought was 5A 112 Pursel and Boyer, the last period kept you on the edge of your seat.

I would have to go with 4A 130. 2 OT with some close calls that had the entire crowd guessing. Great match with two intense wrestlers.

In 321A there were 3 matches in the finals that were dictated by penalty points.

At 285, Huffman of Douglass gave up a locked hands call and an escape in the final seconds of the second overtime period to make the score 4-3 in favor of Salamans of Hoxie.

At 125, Bainter of Norton gave up a stalling point in the third period that gave Hoehn of Wellsville the 2-1 victory.

At 140, Floyd of Osborne barely squeaked by Schneider of Ellsworth do to what appeared to be an illegal headlock or potentially dangerous move, I saw nothing wrong with this but the TV angle wasn't the best, the final margin was 5-4.

The 140 match was probably the most exciting because Schneider got a takedown on the edge that would have tied the match had there been no penalty action. It was the first takedown Floyd have given up all season, too. It would have been nice to see this match go to extra periods just to see if Schneider could have stopped Floyd's 103 consecutive match winning streak.

just my take on the floyd schneider match is that the illegal headlock prevented floyd from earning a takedown plus possible backpoints with 18 seconds left and gave schneider an opportunity to throw a headlock. Imo schneider's gameplan was to keep it close and score big at the end to win and it almost worked. I really wish there was some consistency with the out of bounds. I dont feel there was really any at all. I give my props to the official who officiated the heavyweight match he certainly let the wrestlers wrestle good see.

I admittingly focused my attentions on the 6A finals matches the most, but I did see at least one 5A matche that was a thriller as well.

My Votes in order from most exciting:

6A 140lb Houlden v. Little: Match ended up being the deciding factor in the team scores and we as closely contested as any.

5A 112lb Pursel v. Boyer: Had EVERYONE in the arena, 6A fans as well, on the edge of their seats.

6A 135lb DeShazer v. Tanenbaum: Wow...athleticism at it finest!

6A 215 Hicks v. Caylor: Battle between two BEASTS and the takedown that could have been.

Overall, a great bunch of finals matches that were entertaining to watch!

Not in the Finals......Semis.....and not seen by many, building was nearly empty, last match Saturday night. 285 5A Serna vs Bennett, 4 overtime match 2 to 2 score, Serna picked down and Bennett rode him out with 3 or 4 restarts and as many near escapes....both boys in tears at the end the match.

Yep, that was quite a match! Had to be one of, if not , the best matches of the whole tournament.
