When I talked to the Smith Center Coach at the Beloit Tourney he told me that Colt was going to be wrestling at Sr. Nationals. I think that he will be very competitive there. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do. I agree that he should not be over any of the 5 on the list but he is definitely right up there.

That is great news. Does anyone have a list of the KS kids that will be at Senior Nationals? I know Chase Nitcher, Cade Blair, and Benny Armstrong are going.

Don't know why, but the KSHSAA program doesn't have the 321a brackets in it, and the online brackets don't give grades, so I don't know who is a senior and who isn't.

How about Anderson Sparr Davis Lamar Hood Morgan Cortez Hambleton Walker Hopper Wuthnow all in 4A for this year.

Boyer Smith JOnes Biddle Oliver Is Blew a senior? Davis Walker Seibel Gaskil Curtis Flanigan Truman Kolmer Matheny Potts Bennett all in 5 a for this year

Miller Greenlee Shavlik Dozier Charland Hiller Royal Madl Chaparro Caylor Hicks Trent Page all in 6 A this year

BJ Finney is going to start getting ready to play football at K State and is not attending.

They had a list of those who had previously qualified. They were actually waiting on this weekends finals to add those who had'nt qualified prior. hopefully within the next few days they will have the updated list.

Great discussion on this thread! The Fab Five came out of a group of 15 wrestlers that were on my initial list. I narrowed the list to 10 and then it got much tougher. I can tell you that Colt was the last wrestler taken off before I posted the thread. There has been much discussion about competition levels. At least during the folkstyle season, Rogers had no control over his schedule. In the off season, he had some highs and some not so highs. He beat Parker Madl at Brute one year and lost to Jake Mainz at 16U Kids state. He has had an incredible and historic high school career that includes being a phenom multi-sport athlete. In his case, Taylor Moeder's level of competition both in Folk, FS and GR, kept him off the short list. Every single wrestler that was in that top 15 deserves accolades and can be argued as "fabulous". Even those that barely missed the original list are hero role models in their community.

The bottom line is, Kansas wrestlers are just plain TOUGH. We may not have the same opportunities as other states, but give me a Kansas wrestlers heart on my team anyday!

Great to hear of two more KS kids headed to Virginia.

It would be nice if we could fill up a busload or two of Kansas kids to show 'em what we got........

I don't know much, but Cade Blair is very good. He would be on my FAB ONE list.

In a match between Colt Rogers and Mitch Beims, I would have to go with Colt Rogers, because he's from a bigger school. JMO.

Walker is tough as nails.

Anyone heard if the Osawatomie kid, Grimes, is ok? He did something to his knee on the backdoor match. He is tough also. Him and Anderson had a good semis match.

Grimes tore his MCL and ACL early this year, In December they scheduled surgery scheduled for March 26th. Zack wanted to finish the season before getting his knee worked on. The knee went out in the first period of his backdoor match so he injury defaulted to 6th.

Why all the biased speculation. Just vote on the fab five after Senior Nationals. Gives you the truth of who is the best in their weight reguardless of classification. I feel all classes 321a 4a 5a and 6a all have talented kids, and at the same time they have some very weak weights as well.

It will always be biased speculation. Part of the reason that Cokeley, Moeder and Madl are in there is because of National events.

Someone that has gotten left off of this list, and I have not gone and looked at the competition he has wrestled this year, is Zach Gentzler. He put on a dominating run to an undefeated season. He has also put on a lot of miles driving to find the tough competition over the years, just haven't dug around to see what his competition looked like this year. He would have to be on the short list as well, even though he is just a freshman.

Definitely Zac is awesome and a Future Fab Fiver for sure.
For me though, Zac will have to get in line behind Little Badbo because he is the most fabulous of all.

Bo shouldn't make the list because of the sound thumping he took at Indianapolis 2 years ago in the chicken teriyaki sandwich eating contest he had with Jerry Dale.
