Can anyone tell me if the seeding criteria is a actual rule or just a guideline? Common sense tells me that it would be HS Varsity over HS JV over MS over kids club. Does that not make sense to everyone?

it's a guideline. don't you think there are some middle school kids that can beat high school kids? we all know there are, but common sense plays into it. seeds are not perfect, but are better than drawing names out of a hat.

Sure...there are many MS wrestlers that can beat a HS wrestler. Just think there would be fewer disputes if all were done the same.

I know in our seeding meetings HS varsity wrestlers with a losing record say 15 and 17. got seeded over MS kids with a 32 and 12 record. I don't really think thats right. They put alot of juice in the fact that a kid was a "HS Varsity" wrestler. Well when some schools don't have enough kids to make a full varsity and JV teams is that a big deal? Sorry but the coach will take anyone to fill a roster no offense to anyone. But I don't know that at Subs theres much diffence in seeds. best wrestlers will go to state dispite seeds.

Nope! I'm guessing it's just a big shouting match that last way too long. Which might be shorter if more done with a standard set of guidelines for all to follow? Just a thought......!

Can you go just to watch the mayhem? lol Maybe they could have a coaches/parent tourney to settle the differences. I'd pay to see that!

It really just depends on the kids. I know of some high school JV kids that could beat another schools Varsity kid. I know of middle school kids that can beat high school JV kids. Around here a lot of kids club youth can beat middle school.
