just to make a quick suggestion to all that are interested in helping in this effort.It could be benefical to support the div. II wrestling squads we already have in place. I recently went and watched the newman team wrestle and it was great wrestling. Me and my family had a great time and will be attending many more of thier duals. But at the same time the stands were hardly considered to be filled. My opion is if we dont support our local college wrestlers why would the other colleges consider thier own.

let me illeterate that last sentence because it sounds a little negative and that is far from my point. my opinion is support our local college wrestlers more to show the div I colleges that kansans in general are missing out on the greatest college sport ever

These last two posts you made show me that you have a strong interest in college wrestling. I am hoping that you are interested in seeing NCAA Division I wrestling start at our three schools.

We need committed volunteers to join Ted's army and we also need volunteers to get other committed volunteers in their community to become part of Ted's group. Would you be interested in doing that for your wrestling community. What high school or club are you with and would you be willing to be the point person to start encouraging and signing people up in your group to become volunteers?

I would ask you to identify yourself if you are interested (actual name not by your handle) and the wrestling community that you are part of and from which you will try to sign up members. You just would need to start a list of committed people to this effort. After the commitment, include their name and e-mail address on a list that you will submit to Mr. Ted Witulski at his e-mail address listed the Home Page Breaking News section.

If anyone else is willing to take charge of signing up volunteers from their wrestling community, you may make that known to me in the same way.

I just edited the topic title and my original introduction to the topic to reflect the change that Ted Witulski made to his invitation letter to include Wichita State University.

Vince, I am VERY dissappointed that Richard and others are not marching, and shouting for support, along side you. Your enthusiasm for ANY forward progress is apparent to me. I am available to do what I can. Just holler.

Thank you. I am confident that all of us who love Kansas wrestling will get on board the bus to volunteer to be part of Ted Witulski's plan.

Since you offered, I will holler out to you. First volunteer directly to Ted. Second, we really need someone from the Olathe North community to recruit as many Olathe North wrestling community members as possible to be part of Ted's army. I am hopeful that maybe you, Gary Ulmer and Genia Vincent could step into that role. We need to recruit as many committed volunteers as possible right now. If you could help make that happen, it will be a big help to the effort. See my topic on this Kids forum or the High School forum as to the steps you would need to take as either the Kids or High School Olathe North coordinator. I thought that WSU had been approached already and they shot the idea down and so it was taken to Kansas Newman who now has a wrestling team

I don't know about WSU being approached on the idea in the past. It would not surprise me that a group has approached WSU's administration about the prospect of adding a NCAA Division I program.

I believe that we will have a program someday at WSU. I have no idea when but I really believe it will happen. I also believe it is going to happen at KSU and KU. If we can have basketball programs then we can have wrestling programs too at these universities. Right now we have too many kids wrestling at the youth and high school level in Kansas for this not to happen. I believe as wrestling continues to grow in popularity the momentum will be too strong to prevent it from happening.

This is the best character building sport out there. If we individually keep promoting our sport and keep kids involved in it, then it is going to happen someday.
