btw, This is Lennie, not Lance....
...YAh...
I think TW is a great tool, and I'm glad it's going to be utilized. I feel like the key to making it work is having people who care about providing a great event for the kids, and KS definately has them, in abundance! We have learned so much in the past 3 years from working with people from The WC, Manhattan, Smokey Valley, etc. I think our Dist Championships were successful with TW this year and it sounds like many other programs around the state had success with it too. We ran "Weigh-In" a 1/2 late for the weather too, but started wrestling within an hour(ish) of our original start time. Once we got up, we had a great crew of mom's kick it on the 'puters and rocked it! I agree with a prior post that 1 full hour needs allocated from the end of Weigh-In to the start of Wrestling (not an issue with State). Matches ran long on some mats from the TW calculations, but how does a computer know that some age/wht groups have more competive matches (ot vs pins) than others. It was easy to move matches with their bout sheets from one mat to another. My input for the State Tournament Committee members would be:
Plan for 1 computer w/printer for every 2-3 mats, and get one good "Wrest'r Mom" (and dads!) on each setup to keep it orginized and print bout sheets and wall brackes.
And, ya didn't haveta yell at Lance about the alternate's, (we were hosting the Girl's State's on Sunday too.) Once we all get used to TW, we can keep everybody updated with results and brackets on line!
