Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion Freestyle/Greco Kids FS and GR Nationals

I am trying to get an approximate headcount for how many kids (Schoolboy, Novice and Intermediate) are interest in making the trip to Orem, Utah this summer. You must participate at the Southern Plains tournament in Hays to qualify. The goal is to get a team of at least 20 this year. We have always done very well in the past and want to continue the tradition this year. The Tournament is June 28th through June 30th. This is another great opportunity to travel and develop those friendships that last a lifetime.

Who takes the Kids? Their parents or do you have it set up to travel as a team, like the duals?

Liam Eck, 2nd year Schoolboy, 175#, planning on making the trip.

Curtis Near novice 80# is also planning on going.

Brock Budke Novice is planning on going.

That's 8 so far. Keep em coming guys. GNR we usually take the kids, but parents are more than welcome to come along. We start out in KC and head out west on I70 picking up others along the way.

Colton Steele Novice, is on the fence and not sure yet but may go depending on how he does at states. Poor kid is getting discouraged by wrestling in the Kids 2 group in the Blue Chip events.

Jace Koelzer intermediate

Kyle Evans Schoolboy, is planning on attending.

Joshua Wilmas #190/210 Schoolboy is a very strong maybe from Wichita.

Any information on team Kansas going to nationals in Utah??????

Dylan Newton intermediate 87 leaning towards attending but waiting to see a tentative travel schedule to make sure we have no conflicts.

Sunday, June 27, 2010 3:00 PM Leave from St. James Academy heading west on I-70 to Orem Utah. We will make stops in Topeka, Junction City, Salina, Colby picking up kids.
Monday, June 28, 2010 10:00 AM Arrive in Orem Utah check into hotel.
3:00 PM Arrive at Utah Valley State for Greco Clinic and brief team workout
5:00 PM Check In and Weigh In. Upon conclusion team will eat dinner.
Tuesday, June 29, 2010 6:30 AM Wake up call eat breakfast.
8:00 AM Arrive at Utah Valley State for Warm-Up
9:00 AM Greco Starts
Lunch will be sandwhiches and groceries
6:00 PM Freestyle Only Weigh Ins
7:00 PM Greco Finals
Wednesday, June 30, 2010
6:30 AM Wake up call eat breakfast.
8:00 AM Arrive at Utah Valley State for Warm-Up
9:00 AM Freestyle Starts
Lunch will be sandwhiches and groceries
7:00 PM Freestyle Finals
Leave Immediately following finals and head back to Kansas
