Great record and history.

Of history---what is the history of HS wrestling in Kansas. I always thought it began out in the far NW. From the lists of state champs appears it may have started in the Wichita area.
But before the state championships it had to have been happening for some time.

Hopefuuly KSHSAA has archived this record, plus some kind of overall Kansas wrestling historical narrative. Sound like a good reserch product for some one to produce a book. Bet a lot of folks around the state could provide a lots of info and pictures on this history. May not be a Tom Clancy best seller but bet a small privte publication would sell out. Any ex-wrestlers with english or lit background.

I like all that information. Need to update the last few years and get it relinked if it was linked. Great thing for young wrestlers, or just wrestling fans to look back and remember.

In 95 records may be slightly skewed especially in 321a I know chuck won it at 100 and Rito won it at 112 i think Jekins won it at 106 pretty sure Boyle won it at 185 and Staab at 215 I could be lost as Will would say I am but I did witness Staab and Palubensky wrestle at the senior classic that year Koster won it at 126 and Gable won it at 119 he beat a twin from silver lake in the finals. Boyle's win was agianst Chris Dennis from Oakley at 85 and his second was over Keller from Sainty, his third was over Parks from Mineaplolis. What did the 96 and 97 321a state finals maches have in common there 2 things can anyone name them

The late Alan Dolezal is Russell's last state wrestling champion. The Broncos' wait for a champion will reach 43 years in 2012. Can anyone think of a school with a longer drought, save for those which (a) no longer offer wrestling or (b) have never had a state champion?
