I clearly stated that we are talking about qualifying not medaling.

Will, did you really just ask to make it fair? grin You know the only time life is fair is when you hit the ball between 1st and 3rd.

"A balanced opportunity." I agree, the fair is where you buy cotton candy.

Where would one find a medal count by district? And toughness isn't the case I'm hearing if anyone was worried about how tough d2 is, they would just leave it the way it is not motion change it. Thou I've come to understand the reasoning behind it I don't see a solution. Maybe leave districts alone and take top 5 to state????????

Well I’m still all for eliminating subs and shortening the season! And even if we don’t shorten the season then that gives clubs one more week to schedule tournaments. That alone would loosen up the schedule, create more $ for more clubs, and reduce cancellations of tournaments. I think either of those situations betters wrestling in KS.
At subs we sometimes see 6 kids in one sub and 2 in the other. That’s not cream rising to the top!
Yes it might be the minority of weight brackets but it’s still an issue!
I also think this would alleviate the need for redistricting.

I'm sure seeing 6 kids in one sub-district and 2 in the other is not the majority of the brackets...it is the extreme weights. If we would do only a two tier approach to state (1. District, 2, State)........

I foresee "seeding" being a highly challengeable day for those in charge.

I would also be suspicious in some kids & family thinking "why bother". The subs & the districts bring the guns. Yet I speak from District 1 the most populated. So I'm sure in the districts with less than ~200 of our numbers -- kids might have this problem.

If you want to shorten the season skip subs/dist/state altogether. That'll give you a month free. Getting into FS/GR for the next 8 weeks is great! We just like to wrestle, play football & soccer too. And we do take weekends off during season but we also like to check OK & MO wrestling out as well.....beginning in Nov.

Just my .02 smile

In it to win it.
