Thank you for all of the input! I am sure there will be several corrections and I will change them based on quality criteria.

Wrestlers are ranked by their ANTICIPATED weights. As with any ranking system they are just my opinion, arrived at through MANY hours of research.

Many factors are considered (Not always in this order):

1. State bracket performance.
2. Performance at prestigious national folkstyle tournaments.
3. National FS/GR success.
4. Information from Coaches and Parents.
5. Competition that the wrestler has faced.

IMPORTANT:

The input must include criteria! Asking, "Why is this guy above that guy" or saying, "I can't believe you have that guy ranked" is not criteria. Just state your evidence and if found substantive, I will change it. Also remember that we are still over six weeks away from the first whistle so a lot can change and surely will.

Lansing #1 All-Class?? Dang we got some work to do. Bo Pursel will end up 119 to help fit the pieces in. I do think this is the year if there is one for Lansing. No sneaking up on people. We have the kids from last year, plus Tyler Terron who was a state placer in 09 back from injury last year, and Nathan Wessel who will be eligible in Jan. and a 09 state placer. We just have to get everyone in the correct weights and spread out up top. Then of course we actually have to go out and make it happen, stay healthy etc. just like everyone else. It should be a fun year.

Jake Gentzler will end up at 125 and Zac Gentzler will be at 103 if one of his teammates drops down to 112.

Expected at 130. He is #11 at that weight at this point. #5 in 6A.

Quick Question: Rumor in the schools is that the Hoods transfered to Blue Valley Southwest. Any truth to this?

Skylar Mccombs and Chase Locke wrestled twice last year. Skylar won both matches with a pin in the second match up.

Ive heard Matt Reed is up around 190 so making it to 160 doesn't seem very likely. 189 is probably going to be his weight

Also, the 103lb weight class..you might want to watch for Hunter Price, soph, at Holton. In the past he has wrestled Javier Vieyra and won (was during Kids Fed), Hunter has wrestled and beat Dakota Leach and been beat by him also..so I think he's in the mix. Hunter has wrestled and placed in the past at USJOC and Tulsa among other National tournaments...I look to see his name enter the top ten this year!

We are not sure yet where Drake will be wrestling...as far as weight..gotta get thru football season first!

I won't send a private message to Chief on this because I do not have any data supporting it, but Tyler Mies from Andale is going to be great, and I would be surprised if he loses very many matches. I'll bet before the year is up that Chief's list will have Tyler's name on it.

Chief,
I want to start by saying Thanks for all your hard work putting these list togeather every year. I have enjoyed watching these list and I am sure many other have also enjoyed your list. I just wanted to add to your statement in the first post where you said.

"Also remember that we are still over six weeks away from the first whistle ----"

How very true your statement is.

I think you should have added that we are close to 5 months away from when it all really counts at the State Tournament.

Good Luck to everyone this year and remember to work hard, let your preformance on the mat speak for you, win like a Champ but also lose like a Champ and keep your eyes on the true prize. (STATE ! ! !)

Vieyra pinned Hunter Price at Southern Plains. Was Hunter varsity for Holton last year?

Wasn't Kyle Macy the varsity 103 for El Dorado last year? I saw that Bryce got 5th in the kids/95 bracket, losing to Brandon Ball and PJ Cheney. Leach was the 14/90 State Champion, beating Luke Henes on his way.

If Dakota is anywhere close to 103 he will be hard to beat.
