3. SEEDING MEETINGS - Each district will establish a deadline, prior to the seeding meeting, after which no additional entries may be made. At the seeding meeting, weight or age corrections or scratches may be made in all age groups, including walk-on wrestlers, prior to the start of seeding the wrestlers. Once the seeding starts, no changes or additions will be allowed except in the case of clerical errors by the tournament director.

and;

Rule 10-4

In the event of a bracket with three or four wrestlers there will be a round robin. In the event of a two-man bracket they will wrestle the best two out of three matches.

A weight classification with five (5) wrestlers is to be placed in an eight (8) man bracket!

The suggested seeding for an eight man bracket is:

Seed 1 vs.
Seed 8

Seed 5 vs.
Seed 4

Seed 3 vs.
Seed 6

Seed 7 vs.
Seed 2

Suggested seeding for a five person bracket is:

Seed 1 vs.
Bye

Seed 5 vs.
Seed 4

Seed 3 vs.
Bye

Bye vs.
Seed 2

How does this work for a bracket of 14 - just got our sons and just doesn't seem right - his record 10/16 his first match 25/9. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

14 kids would be in a 16 man bracket with the top two seeds getting byes. Third seed would wrestle the 14 seed in the first round, the 4 seed would wrestle the 13 seed, 5 vs 12, 6 vs 11, 7 vs 10, 8 vs 9.

Okay, I am really confused.
Here is our bracket by record with 2 without it noted so not sure of them.

14/7
Bye

?
10/2

19/5
6/13

16/17
22/15

28/2
3/0

10/16
25/6

10/4
?

bye
15/12

If by record is this correct?
I don't mean to be a complaining parent, but when looking at this is just doesn't seem to come out right and I am not just looking at my chld I am seeing it for all of them based on the records.

Are the seeding best record to worst in wins? guess I am really lost.

Thank you.

I don't see where you indicate what age group we are talking about. That could have a lot to do with it. For instance if it's 8U then some of those records could be for 6U wrestlers who have been wrestling down all season. Also, 14U will have allowances for kids who have been wrestling high school all season vs middle school etc.. You really have to be at the meeting to get any true fix on what went on. There could be many variables.

Thank you. This is for 8 under, I know for sure that 7 of them including my son are true 6 under, but with it only being 8u at sub I understand some are 7or8 year olds. Like the 15/12 record I know that is a 8u. others not sure.

The 28/2, 25/6, 19/5 I know for sure are 6u's and a few others I know are too.

We didn't know about the meeting until we were giving brackets last night at practice.

Thanks Much.

Well, if this district only seeded the top half and drew the rest in then the its still lop sided. The 1st have would be 14/7 and the bottom of that half is 22/15 record - still no sense.
I really think all districts should be seeding in the same manner to make it fair to all Kids Club members no matter where they live.
