What are the numbers like in middle Schools across the state are they up or down.

Here in Effingham I think they said there were only 16 wrestling.

I think Concordia only has 13

Many programs won't know until December or even later, when they start practice.

Why is middle school so different across the state? In the Frontier league (Gardner, Paola, Spring Hill, Louisburg, Ottawa, Baldwin, Eudora) they started practice the day after Middle school football ended, Oct 20th this year, they have four tri-meets and a league tournament that finishes by November 13th. (Yes the season is less then a month long.) But other places don't even start until after December?

Lawrence South started this week. I think we have about 28 kids or so.
Lawrence Southwest: usually about the same
Lawrence West: usually a little less
Lawrence Central: Usually from about 5-10 each year

1st tourney in Manhattan on Nov 7th (I believe) and end with City duals December 12th or so.

Then kids wrestling till April. I think last year the boy had 70 matches. Which is a lot!

Seaman Vikings started this week also. There were 49 7th & 8th graders. See you in Manhattan Bronson.

Iam thinking we need to start a middle school thread! Keep up on the results and how our KS kids are doing!

Although our Middle School wrestler moved on the the next level, I will be keeping close watch on our team from South, which means I will probably be bothering you Bronson (take good notes please). It is too bad that both sides of the state still haven't come together on starting now instead of some not starting until later in the school year.

How miny does rossville royal valley holton have out . I heard sabetha has 20 out.

Kenneth Henderson in Garden City has 53
Abe Hubert in Garden City has around 50

I got to see Tevin Briscoe wrestle at the MS State Duals Championships last year and he was very impressive. If he is still in Jr High he will not lose many, if any matches.

Currently - Rossville has 17 wrestlers out.
