I will admit that I am guilty of having to leave early, I was the only one from our club that didn't have prior plans.

I had all intentions to stay the entire day without question when I left the house that morning.

But a emergency call from work changed that and I left before the vote.

Just food for thought I would have liked to have the option for vote entry due to the circumstances.

Be mad that I left all you want, but work pays the bills and is first on the priority list in this case.

I would like to think that how the representative voted is based on their club's direction and not at their discretion. With that in mind it shouldn't matter who is holding the card up, they are simply the messenger. Transparency is a good thing, it brings accountability!

If a club doesn't trust the person that they send up to that meeting, to vote the way the club wants to vote, then they shouldn't send that person to the meeting. That will be a self policing thing.

The bigger problem is making sure that clubs are able to vote and feel comfortable doing it. And I think that means secret ballot of some sort.

Good point above about things that do come up, and a club having the right to vote when absent, but I also have ahard time believing that SOMEONE couldn't find the time to make the meeting from a club. You just gotta ask, and let them know how important it is.......
