With State Runner Up Henning and 4th place finisher Molby who were both juniors last year, but won't be in 4a this year for one reason or another, does this leave 4a HWT as one of the most open weights in the state? I was looking at last year's brackets and there are some other underclassmen other then the Denner kid from Hiawatha that could steal the show. A young Jarin Brown from Concordia may come on strong, and it appeared that the Iola kid Lynn (how long have they had wrestling by the way?!) isn't too shabby. Robert Retzer and Tyler Ewy are both solid from Ottawa and Louisburg too.
6 srs graduated, and then the departure of the Henning and Molby kid means that half the bracket will have freshblood. Also wait...isn't Valley Center back up to 5a? That means 9 departed.
Any other possible players in the wide open 285 of 4a? Any

the brown kid really impressed me last year. very physical for a freshman. he was unintimidated by anyone he wrestled. he wrestles with an attitude. i watched him last year throw denner on to the scoring table on the edge of the mat. he'll push off a kid at the end of a period or at the edge of the mat , much like you see at the college level. just didn't conduct himself like an underclassman. i think he'll dominate this year

The reason Jarin Brown is so aggressive is that his coaches promise him an "all you can eat" coupon at the local Sirloin Stockade if he wins........Hopefully KSHSAA looks in to this..........

Molby moved out of state and Henning is no longer at Augusta. Possibly transferring to a 321A school.

Thanks for the info.........Henning not in 4A, but he fell off the All Class?....is he going to a 123A that does not have wrestling? Not trying to dig....just seems strange. Good Luck to both. Must of missed something.....what happened to Molby and Henning?

I recently saw Kyle Stroot from Clearwater and he looks fit. He used to be a shorter rounder Heavy weight. Now it looks like he could go 215! I think if he goes HVY for Clearwater he could upset some kids!

I was at Baker Open last week in Baldwin......Jessie Austin, SR 285 from BHS was there helping with a table. That boy is huge, got to be 6'6" or more and close to 300. He is going to be tough to deal with. 4A Heavy will be tough

This weight class is a joke this year. It goes from one of the toughest in 4A to the worst in the state. None of the top six of last year return and in my opinion this is the worst weight in any class in the state!

Time will tell, the one thing that keeps them up there is the fact you have to actually win more then a match to qualify for state at your regional, so some would argue with your assumption, but I do agree this weight took a big hit with graduations and falling off the maps by top returners.
