How would you rank these teams for dual rankings?
This would be a great way to start a season next year with a tough dual tournament of top 20 or 24 teams and preason bragging rights of who is the top dog. Several matches for all the wrestlers.
4 pools of 5 or 6 teams on day 1, day 2 set a bracket of 16 teams the next day double with elimination for the championship. The 4 or 8 teams that don't make the 16 team bracket do a 4 or 8 team bracket with double elimination cons. bracket. It depends on getting 20 or 24 teams to travel to - maybe salina bicentennial center or any big central high school. Maybe invite top 6 teams from each class from previous years individaul state tournament.
Abilene 12 Andale 2 Andover Central 8 Ark City 5 Clay Center 3 Colby 13 Derby 7 Emporia 15 Gardner/Edgerton 9 Garden City 16 Goodard 6 Goodland 12.5 Hoxie 14 Kapaun MC 11 Lansing 10 Norton 4 Rossville 18 Shawnee Heights 17 Wichita Heights 1

You have GEHS as 17 when they have beaten Lansing and Shawnee Heights. Just wondering why then you have them as 17 out of 17?

I would also like to know how many of these teams are currently undefeated in duals (with GE 7-0 as of now)?

I like this idea of a preseason dual tournament. Postseason would be fine too. Teams might actually be better with all there wrestlers in shape. I took your idea and made out the pools.
I did 4 pools of 6 wrestlers. top 2 teams of each pool go to championship bracket. The next 2 teams go to a consolation bracket. Then the bottom 2 teams in each pool go to a hard luck bracket. This way each team gets the same amount of matches.
1. Wichita Heights 1 2. Andale 2 3. Andover Central 3 4. Norton 4 5. Ark City 5 6. Goddard 6 7. Derby 7 8. Clay Center 8 9. Gardner/Edgerton 9 10. Lansing 10 11. Kapaun MC 11 12. Abilene 12 13. Colby 13 14. Hoxie 14 15. Emporia 15 16. Garden City 16 17. Shawnee Heights 18. Rossville 19. Hutchison 20. Saint James 21. Newton 22. Manhattan 23. Pittsburg 24. Topeka Seaman
4 pools of 6: Pool A- Wichita Heights Clay Center Gardner Edgerton Garden City Rossville Newton
Pool B- Andale Derby Lansing Emporia Hutchision Pittsburg
Pool C- Andover Central Goddard Kapaun Hoxie Saint James Topeka Seaman
Pool D- Norton Ark City Abilene Colby Shawnee Heights Manhattan
I seeded the top 16 teams according to Smokey's Rankings and drew in the next 8. I'm not gonna predict what would happen because it would be way to hard to do and there are a lot of things that you have to take into consideration.

I was looking for some help in the Dual Team Rankings. Or you could take the top two from each pool and make 3 - 8 team brackets with double elimination regular bracket.

Here is a suggestion: Have league tournaments use the dual format, then have all the league champions meets for a dual tournament. Teams may not have 2 or 3 potential state champions, but they can and often do have a solid line-up that competes well in duals.

Hoxie also beat Goodland with there full team not missing 4 wrestlers and losing by whatever the score was. Also considering when goodland beat them the second time they only won 3-10 matches. I think hoxie deserves to be ahead of them. as of colby idk how they faired against goodland in a dual.

Not sure about ALL class dual tournament.
I put together a CLASS 5A tournament: TOP four from each region (Probable) and then seeded by rankings with one or two expections
1 AC 2 Lansing 3. Shawne Heights 4. KMC 5. Ark City 6. Emporia 7 GEHS 8 Newton 9 Seaman 10 Mill Valley 11 Turner 12 STA 13 Great Bend 14 McPherson 15 Liberal 16 Wyandotte
Single elimination tournament
The older I get the better I was!

Goodland was missing 3 wrestlers the first time they dualed Hoxie, so all in all they haven't wrestled a fair dual. They are both strong teams!

To help your number system out a bit if you are trying to rank teams. Clay Center has already beaten Andover Central and Derby in a dual. Also Andale might not be the best dual team because they spot a team 24 points being open from 171-189. Dual rankings is a nice thought if the person ranking the teams knows what they are doing. Manhattan is a very tough dual team as well. It is a whole different criteria and system as ranking a tournament team.

This is just a starting point for discussion.
Also depends on matchups and who can get bonus points and how the coaches schuffle the lineups, bump kids around and or if they matchup the best against the best or if they trade pin for pin. Sorry, Brandon I haven't looked at every possible dual acrossed the state yet - just trying to see if the state KSHSAA, KWCA, and the fans are in favor of a state dual system. Coaches like you can feed the official dual ranker information such as the Derby. Andover Central situation and at the end of the year a top 24 list maybe be able to be compiled and completed for the strongest dual teams. Not every team posts their dual results either. I am not in a position to compile that list of every teams record, and who beat who at this time. Maybe the same guys doing the individual and individual tournament team ranking for all the different classes can come up with a team dual ranking also.

Isn't that only 12 points?

Andale had a young man entered at 189 at Basehor and he looked pretty solid.

Sorry I meant 285 instead of 189. I guess last i knew was that they were open after 160. the dual rankings is a good idea and I was just giving some info to start. The rankings would also mean much more if there was a dual state that the rankings could live up to. I think that some of the ideas that are being discussed would be on the right track but it is going to be hard to actually get KSHSAA to go along with the idea.

Whether or not the state was behind it or not would not prevent any school from hosting such an event by inviting 24 teams to a 2 day dual tournament - not all teams would be able to make it most likely. But have a list of 32 to 48 of the top teams and start from there. I would think the coaches would be behind it - because all their kids would get more matches and it might generate a few more hotel stays from fans other than just the parents of kids. Some teams may have to bring up to 20 guys just to rotate guys in the duals. Some of the 2 day tournaments without pools - kids go 2 maybe 3 matches and out and that isn't getting them any more mat time in a regular individual tournament.
