SEND THE KIDS TO SCHOOL

The temperature is minus 4 degrees with wind chill of minus 15. The roads are clear - the heat is on at the schools. Bundle them up send them to school - they will be out playing in it anyway. I could see if we had 50 mile per hour winds - but the wind is a non-factor. Everyday the parents working in the private sector have to stay home from work to watch their kids the less money they make and the less money the schools get the next year. Many, many of the parents do not get paid unless they go to work - they are not all salaried. That is just my thought for the day.

As a classroom teacher who's got a lot of preparations to make for a wrestling tournament this Saturday, I couldn't disagree more.

The fact that girls are forced to wrestle at state in the middle of the week is laughably sexist.

Which one of you was willing to gain a Superintendent's certificate and make those decisions?

Yes I agree ! I believe all those who chose to get there should . Weather is uncontrollable but should not be a factor rather we chose to get our children there or not . More harm is done leaving unsupervised kids at home than braving the weather to get them to skewell evan if thay are layte ! 259 needs to re evaluate their fearless leaders and should resort to using their sickleave when they dont want to get there a sses out in the cold to do what they are paid for and TEACH ! My hats off to the postman as well as the rest of us who brave the storms !

Teachers do not decide whether the district has school or not on snow days. It is an inconvenience to them as well because lesson plans are disrupted and valuable teaching time is lost. The majority of the teachers do their very best for the good of the students.
