Any thoughts on the Sunflower league tournament tomorrow? Individual matches to watch? What teams will contend?

Thanks

Middleton v. Woofter is always a close one. They have had three matches of 1-0, 1-0 and 5-3 OT. Bauerly, Haines and Reis Humphrey at 135 will be a battle as well as the 3rd installment of Humphrey/Whitmore.

171 finally brings us the match-up of #1 v #2 in 6A! Blaine Hill of SME, in only his 3rd year of wrestling is already turning heads by his athleticism. Can he claim the league championship over one of our state's top wrestlers?

Come on over to SM East High School and join us!

The Conklin/Hill match was close. Reece was warned for stalling and Hill had a cradle locked up but was unable to score. I hope they meet again at State!

Did they name an Outstanding Wrestler for the tournament?

If I was voting for an Outstanding Wrestler it would have been either Andrew Denning or Nathan Butler, both of them powered through their brackets with all pins and tech falls.

Did you see that Eckenbacherswartzendruber?

I would have voted Nathan Butler #1 and Blake Hill at 160 #2.

Agree - Butler was my choice, just wasn't sure if an official award was given.
