Does anybody out there have the results of the SEK make up duals that were held in Pittsburg Saturday. ( Not just team scores either)

Other than the 22-21 victory of Parsons of Iola, most of these duals look pretty onesided. Also odd number of make ups, looks like Parsons had 3 duals and Columbus had a 5 day load. Everyone else 2 except Fort Scott? What about Pitt, no results for them?

Pittsburg did not have any to make up. Parsons was originally scheduled for 4 and Columbus for 6, but with the 5 match limit per day, they did not wrestle.

Too bad of the 5 match rule, but a week before regionals anyway...would you want to wrestle 6 times if you are a team?

I am all for changing the 5 match rule, I understand the rule and will obey the rule as long as it is in affect. It just would of been nice to be able to wrestle them due to it was a league match-up. It is always nice to be able to wrestle good competition like a Columbus team.

So from a coaching standpoint, and switching topics a bit, do you think a team like yours or any SEK team for that matter would benefit of a Dual State competition? I ask because I see that Chanute is ranked top 10 in the latest rankings, and Columbus isn't and I assume that means rankings are soley based on tournaments?

I will be the first to say that I am am not the most educated on the dual state competition. I do believe that their are a lot of teams that are much better at duals than they are at tournaments. Before I could give an honest answer for the way that our team would feel on that I would have to do some more looking into it. I may be totally off on this, but don't you have to place so high in a tournament to be invited to a dual team competition? Once again, I may be way off.

Thanks
Chris Ball

I am very surprised that Columbus beaT Chanute like that. It would be interesting to see individual results.

I read the proposal and correct me if I am wrong but say you take 5th as a team in Regionals, you do not qualify for this as a team, and your individual state qualifiers would have two weeks off before the state tournament?

There were several forfeits and no upsets that I recall.

Just saw the regional bracket, and Chanute is in 3rd and League runner up Columbus is behind them by almost 40 points?! You must not have been kidding about all the forfeits in that dual! Guess this is another reason for a dual state push, although if it were a bunch of forfeit wins, would Columbus even qualify for a dual state?
