OK Maize South you ARE the last 4A School listed. Realize it's your 1st Regional but hope you will be up online soon? Anyone know?

Instead of complaining, get in your car and GO support your Orioles at the tournament. If you need directions from Augusta to Maize, use Mapquest or Google maps, it is very easy to find.

Richard, some of us can't make it. It would be nice to find out how your team is doing online rather than depending upon text messages and phone calls that may or may not be returned. I understand that negativity is usually not conductive to positive change, but neither is bickering and sarcasm. I have no clue regarding the previous history between you two, but this may be better served by a private conversation. Sorry for buttin' in.

I will be at the Ark City regional, but I am interested in finding out how other are doing, in other classifications also. Modern technoligy makes this possible. All the regionals should be on-line and updated.

We tolerate poor reporting far too much, just look at the results page on the KWCA page, there are a large number of duals that go unreported. Football and Basketball results are instant and expected. Some results fron wrestling seem to be in the witness protection program.

Well, I'm not sure who would be reporting the results, but I can tell you that the Maize South wrestling team doesn't get a ton of support. I have left regionals for the day, and worked the concession stand most of the time that I was there today, but I will try to post results on here tomorrow if the link isn't up and running by then.

Well, I wouldnt hold your breath for those results or the website to get up and running. That's too bad you don't get support. I think the manager for the Maize South regional is Maize's district athletic director. Someone should contact him.

If you hold a regional you should have to prove you have a web site that is reliable or you don't get the tournament. Here in Co. I can go to the Denver Post online and see the brackets for each size school for each of the weight class's. Shame on the Ks. newspapers. If there is a newspaper in Ks. that does this for regionals & state please let the wrestling fans of Ks. know.

Ok, Maize South. Take a polarized picture of the brackets and send it by pony express.

Don't worry Richard, I did get in my car and went and supported our Orioles who by the way are 3rd with 4 in the finals at end of day 1. But I agree with the last poster that in this day of easy computer access that it should be a requirement to be online if you bid to host a regional. There are many family members who work, former team members and many others who may even be out of state that would like to follow their team.

If I were the state director there would be a fine of a $1,000 for the school for not having the site up! There would be another fine for the regional manager of a $1,000, and for the coach a fine of $500.

Be assured, I was never worried.

The tournaments providing online updates are providing a SERVICE to the non paying fan. It is not a right, but a privilege granted by the host school to provide online updates. The problem with providing the service is if and when the internet service goes down, there is constant complaining from those who are sitting in front of their keyboard. The responsibility of the tournament host is to the coaches and wrestlers competing at their regional and to paid attendees. The tournament manager has NO responsibility to be a good host to the casual fan sitting on the couch with their laptop close by.

Much like this talk forum, which is free to the vast majority of users but is paid for by the membership of USAW Kansas Wrestling.

Congratulations to your son for advancing to the finals and qualifying for the 4A State Championship Tournament next week in Salina.

By the way, did those of you that are complaining realize that KSHSAA had to wait to announce the regional sites, because it is so hard to find schools to host? You're going to fine a school for not providing welfare to those that can't make it? How about if all of you that are upset volunteer your time and energy to make it better? Or, donate some money to the host site to hire someone to do this. Host sites are lucky to break even on regionals, and there appears to be a little budget crunch currently.

I think if a school can't have a website up and running, then at least take the technology of printing off the brackets, and fax the results in to major papers, or post agates on here.
