I know a lot has been said about Taylor Moeder and Ryne Cokeley from St. James Academy, but I wanted to mention the phenomenal records that these two have accomplished over their career. This weekend these two will likely surpass 330 combined wins. I would guess that it will be quite awhile before we see classmates who accomplish such a milestone.

I for one am proud to call them KANSAS WRESTLERS!

Ryne Cokeley - 166-13

Taylor Moeder - 162-9

I think you could debate for a lot of tandem senior wrestlers in Kansas history:

For St. Francis in 1999:
Gabe Jenkins = 4X State Champion
Kelly Gabel = 3X State Champion, 1X Runner-up, Senior Nationals Runner-up

I'm not sure of the records because I don't have the information on both. I know Gable ended with 141 career wins in the wrestling era prior to the switch to dual and pool tournaments.

For Campus in 2005:
Josh Baldridge = (133-5), 4X State Champion (Beat Cornejo for 1 of his 4 titles), 3rd at Senior Nationals, 2nd and 4th in NJCAA at Labette CC
Joseph Cornejo = (142-7), 2X State Champion, 2X Runner-up, 4th at Senior Nationals, 3rd in NJCAA at Labette CC

Yes, but not all of Moeder's and Cokeley's wins came when they were teammates. I have to go with Caldwell/Beard.

If Moeder would have stayed in colby he might be going for his third team title in a row as well as individual.

Just wondering who had the most combined state titles individual and team. I know some of the hoxie kids in the early 2000 had quite a few.

I believe Moeder's move to SJA helped him greatly in gaining national exposure, contributing to his DI scholarship.

Colt Rogers of Smith Center might fit that bill. 4X Individual Champion, 3X Team Champion and 1X Runner-up in wrestling, 3X Football Champion and 1X Football Runner-up. He also won a few state track medals.

Clay Madden of Norton also was a 4X Individual Champion, 3X Team Champion and 1X Team Runner-up.

Matt Gilliland of Hoxie was a 4X Individual Champion, 2X Team Champion and 2X Team Runner-up

Wow Chief, that may be true but isn't what you said kind of a slap in the face to Colby and coach Simms. I mean didn't Kriss get a D-1 scholarship couple of years ago?

Matt Treaster of Beloit? I know he won his individual titles in 3-2-1A and 4A and I know the Trojans won titles in each of the classes, just not sure if it was 4 times.

Beeson,
Don't know how I missed that you had already put down some of the bulldog boys when I made my post. Anyhow, the SJA boys are certainly deserving of kudos. I can't wait to see their college careers play out. Certainly some AA's in the future.

momviel.... i don't think anyone is trying to take away from what ryne and taylor have done. they are "one of the best" combos ever. i just think people are naming other "one of the best" also. so to appease you, congrats taylor and ryne, you have accomplished greatness, hope you continue that over the next 4-5 years.

More than a few on here have highjacked the thread, which is fine... But let's find this out...

Moeder and Cokeley have 328 combined victories (and counting). Have there ever been classmates in Kansas that have surpassed that total?
