Just a big THANK YOU to the Dodge City crew for the great tournament yesterday!! Overall, everything ran smooth and was well organized! After all the negativity I have read on the forum lately, I just wanted to say that I am PROUD to be a part of the Federation Wrestling Family! Southwest Kansas was showing their best yesterday-- from officials to coaches to wrestlers. There will always be questionable calls and lots of tears--but for the love of the sport we keep coming back! As parents, we all do what WE can to better our kids.... For some that may be going to all the big out of state tournaments, while others scramble to get to the local ones. Some drive hours to get to practice while others struggle to get one kid to ballet practice and four grouchy boys to wrestling down the street (me blush ) We are all just doing our best for our kids! And NO parent is wrong for doing so.
I love seeing my boys wrestle...but it really warms my heart when I see them a few minutes later paling around with the kid that they just wrestled from another town (win or lose) they have made a friend, not on Xbox live, but on the mat! So thanks to Dodge City for the great tourny and for the hospitality. Scott and crew you guys did it right! (I loved the fruit baskets for the table workers!) And to all the wrestling parents, thanks for your dedication to the sport!!

Thank you for working the tables. The fruit baskets were my wife's idea and she was glad to know you liked them. We would like to express a great deal of gratitude to Paul Finch of Greater Gold. He took care of trackwrestling and the computers. A tournament like this would not be a success without all the clubs from the South pitching in to help. One more thank you to Troy, Dixie and Hunter Brunson from Guymon OK, even though you were not allowed to wrestle in the State Series, showing up and working a table was truly HONORABLE on you part. Thank you

Scott, I just wanted to add that the Mendoza's also came to support our club as well. No doubt that it was hard for these 2 famalies. Thanks to the Brunson and Mendoza Families for cheering us on!

On a different note, Congrats for the success ot the tournament. Might have been a small bump at first but it went very well after that! Great wrestling D4.

I am sorry I didn't see the Mendoza's. Wish they would have came and said Hi. I am glad they were there as well.
